Cole's Mistake (Haven, Texas 8)
“Not even as a gift?” he cajoled. “For all those missed birthdays and Christmases?”
“Hmm, a man who gives sex toys for birthdays? My kind of guy,” Keira joked. “Screw diamonds, I want handcuffs and vibrators.”
Oh, she’d get her diamonds too. What the fuck was the point of all this money if he couldn’t use it to spoil them both? But he didn’t say that, waiting for Julian to say something. The other man was proud. It couldn’t be easy on him, accepting Joel’s help.
“The toys will be yours, except for anything you want to buy Keira,” Julian told him. “She deserves some spoiling.”
Cole got it. But he didn’t intend to abide by it. He’d just have to be a little bit sneaky about buying things for Julian.
“All right, shopping trip it is. Anything else you’d like to do today?” He waited, unsure what they would suggest.
Julian shook his head. They both turned to Keira. She bit her lip then looked to Julian, finally shaking her head.
Cole narrowed his gaze. “Keira, is there something you would like to do today?” He made his tone firm, not liking the fact that she held back from them both.
Julian shot him a sharp look. Right. Fuck. He wasn’t in charge. But Julian didn’t say anything to him, he simply turned to Keira.
“Kitten? What would you like to do?”
“I . . . I . . .” She looked panicked. Over a simple question. Fuck. Whatever they’d been through, they’d both come away with PTSD, with demons that lived deep. He had to bite his lip from demanding answers.
“Pumpkin, look at me.” Julian came over to where she sat on the couch, crouching in front of her. “You can tell me anything.”
“I don’t want to make the wrong decision,” she admitted.
“Why don’t you tell us,” Cole cajoled. “Then we could all make the decision. If that’s okay with you,” he added, looking down at Julian.
Julian just nodded.
“I just . . . I’d really like to go on a picnic. Aspen told me about this spot. It’s kind of in the middle of nowhere, but you get a gorgeous view of all of Haven. Will that be okay?”
“It’s perfect. Let me get some food together. Cole, you can eat Keira out while I do that.”
It was almost a flyaway comment. But Cole knew that wasn’t the case.
And since he was submitting to their commands for the next twenty-four hours he couldn’t say no, could he?
Keira gaped at Julian, who turned and walked into the kitchen. He couldn’t be serious? She knew that, essentially, Cole was under his command for the next day, but it wasn’t right to just order him to give her oral sex.
“You don’t have to,” she whispered to Cole, feeling mortified. What if he didn’t want to? She could never make anyone do anything they didn’t wish to.
Cole raised his eyebrows. “I think I do.”
She sho
ok her head. “No, I mean . . . I don’t want you to do it if you don’t want to. That would make me feel ill and awful and . . .” She started to shake.
“Keira. Hey, Keira. It’s okay. We don’t need to do anything. Little bit, stop shaking, you’re worrying me.” Cole drew her close to his chest, holding her tightly.
“What’s going on?” Julian asked sharply, striding back into the room. “Why is Keira upset?”
“She’s worried I don’t want to eat her out,” Cole explained.
“Shit.” Julian stepped forward and hugged her back, so she was squished between the two of them. She could barely breathe, but she wasn’t complaining. This was her favorite place in the world to be.
“I don’t want Cole doing anything he doesn’t want to. It’s not right. It makes me feel yuck.”
Cole stepped back, and she let out a murmur of protest, but he simply cupped her face between his hands, tilting it up so she was looking into his eyes.
