Jardin's Gamble (Haven, Texas 9)
She made a murmuring noise of protest.
“Yes, you are. Carrick?”
“On it,” Carrick groaned. “I’m close.” He reached one hand around and played with her clit.
Jardin chose that moment to thrust deeply, coming in her mouth. She was swallowing him down just as Carrick drove her up and over that edge. He followed her soon after, his own roar mingling with her cries of pleasure.
Together, the three of them collapsed on the bed, and the men tucked her tightly in between them.
“Shit,” Jardin said.
“What is it?” she asked, stiffening.
“I forgot to go over your rules.”
She let out a deep breath. “I think those can wait.”
“Oh, no. These are very important.”
“Let me take care of this condom first,” Carrick said. He got up and walked to the bathroom. She watched that tight ass move. Hey, she was only human.
Jardin pulled her so she was lying with her head on his chest. She relaxed into his body heat, letting the scent of him surround her. A yawn overtook her as Carrick moved in behind her, spooning her. He stretched his arm over them both.
“Tired, rocket?” Carrick asked with concern.
“Little bit.”
“So, you haven’t been sleeping or eating?” Jardin asked in a deep voice. “Not winning any prizes for self-care.”
She sighed. “I haven’t been able to sleep properly since meeting Derrick Silvers. And eating . . . well, it didn’t seem like a priority. I’ve been trying to watch my money. Keir and Ace need to eat more than me.”
“You all need to fucking eat,” Jardin growled.
“Easy,” Carrick soothed. “We’re here now. We’ll take care of all of them.”
“I’m not sure how Keir and Ace will handle this. Us. They don’t know you. And Keir, especially is jumpy from our quick departure.”
“Don’t worry, everything will be fine,” Jardin told her. “They’ll be fine with us.”
“They’re just settling into school here.”
“Easy, rocket,” Carrick told her, running his hand down her arm. “We’ll sort it all out. There’s a school break coming up, isn’t there?”
“In another week.”
“All right, let’s do this,” Jardin said decisively. “We’ll stay a few days with my cousins. Talk with Maddox over what he wants from me while Regent sorts out Silvers. We’ll get your brothers used to us and the idea of moving back to New Orleans . . . if that’s what you want.”
“I like it here. But New Orleans is home. And if it’s safe . . . I mean, I do have a job there, right?”
“Oh, hell no,” Jardin told her. “You’re fired.”
She sat up, gaping down at him. “What?”
“You didn’t give any notice when you left. You quit.”
“But . . . I . . . but . . .”
“You thought being in a relationship with the boss was going to get you leniency, you can think again.”
