He lifted her off his lap and held her hips as she swayed. “Go get dressed,” he said more abruptly than he’d meant to.

She blinked then glanced down at herself, seemingly to notice for the first time that her robe was half undone. She quickly wrapped it around her.

“Jack’s seen me in less.”

“Dressed. Now.” Jack might have seen her in less at the club, but that was a completely different thing. He turned her around when she didn’t move quick enough for him and gave her a smack on the ass.

She frowned at him over her shoulder.

“That’s another five.”

She gaped at him. “For what?”

“For not immediately obeying me.”

She snorted. “I’ll never be able to sit if you’re going to spank me every time I don’t immediately obey you.”

Amen to that.

Reagan strode back into the living room five minutes later. She didn’t want to miss out on what Jack had to say, but she’d needed a few minutes to compose herself.

When she walked in, both men stopped talking. She sat next to Tiny on the sofa, feeling shy for some reason. But then he placed an arm around her shoulders and dragged her in close and suddenly, she wasn’t feeling uncertain anymore.

Jack looked at them for a moment but didn’t say anything. “Afternoon, Reagan.”

“Hi, Jack. Thanks for coming over.”

“Hey, sweetheart. No problem. I’m guessing I could have had better timing.” He smirked.

“Get on with it,” Tiny growled.

Didn’t he like Jack? “Can I get you tea or coffee?” she blurted out, remembering her manners.

“He’s not staying,” Tiny said.

Yes, it seemed he didn’t like Jack. She wondered why.

“No, I have to get going,” Jack said with a smile, apparently not taking offense at Tiny’s abruptness. “I’ve brought over the sketch the florist provided us with. I thought that perhaps you might recognize him.”

She stared down at the paper he turned toward her. Disappointment filled her. “I don’t recognize him.”

“Damn. I thought it was a long shot.” Jack went to grab the paper, but she put her hand down.

“I didn’t get a very good look at who was following me, but perhaps if you put a baseball cap on this guy, it could be him. I'm not very helpful, am I?”

Tiny squeezed her. Her breath left her in a whoosh, but she didn’t complain, after all, he was just trying to comfort her.

“It’s a start,” Jack told her.

“What about the cable guy?” Tiny asked.

“Dead end. The guy was legit.”

“Damn,” Tiny muttered.

She leaned her head against his shoulder, hating the defeat that filled her. Would this ever end? Tiny ran his fingers up and down her arm. She didn’t know if he even realized he was doing it, but the small gesture soothed some of the tension in her body.
