My Kind of Beautiful (Finding Love 2)

Georgia nods. “Thank you, Lex.” She hugs me. “He’s not going to be thrilled, but I’m going to wait.”

“And if he doesn’t respect that,” I say, pulling back and looking into my sister’s bright green eyes. “Then dump his ass.” She laughs softly. “I mean it. A man who cares about you will wait until you’re ready. You’re fucking beautiful, Georgia. Robert might be your first real boyfriend, but that’s only because you chose not to date until now. Trust me when I tell you, you can get any damn guy you want.”

Georgia rolls her eyes. “Whatever, Lex, let’s go.”

When we walk outside, Georgia sees the damage to my vehicle. “I can’t believe Jason did that,” she says.

“I know, we have no proof, but I would bet it was him.” I tell her what happened at the beach earlier, everything Jason said to me, and how Max punched him.

“Good,” she says, her nose scrunching up. “What a loser.”

We take Georgia’s truck to our parents’ place, and when we arrive, I see Alec’s truck already in the driveway, along with Mason’s BMW.

We walk into the house and the first person I see is Alec. He’s wearing a Station 115 shirt that’s taut across his chest and a matching hat. He’s talking and laughing with my dad, but when he hears the front door close, he stops and turns. Our gazes collide and my stomach does a small flip-flop. We’re actually doing this. Alec and I are together.

Without thinking about anyone else who might be watching us, I cut across the room, straight to Alec. It’s only been a few hours since I’ve last seen him, kissed him, but I already miss him. Our mouths crash against each other, as he takes me into his arms.

“I think we were supposed to tell everyone first,” he murmurs against my lips when we break our kiss.

It takes me a second, but once I process what he’s just said, I glance around the room and find everyone is watching us. My mom and Alec’s mom, Mila, both have huge grins on their faces. My dad’s face is a mixture of a smile and a glower. My brother and Georgia are both laughing, and Mason is sporting a knowing smirk.

“Well, I guess you all know now.” I shrug, feeling a slight blush upon my cheeks.

“We do,” Mom says matter-of-factly. “And we’re very happy for you both.”

She wraps her arms around me, and I sigh into her warm embrace. I might come across like I do whatever I want, but I still care about what my family thinks. Their opinion matters to me because they matter to me.

“Dad, you too?” I ask, just to make sure.

“As much as I hate the idea of my little girls growing up, I know it’s inevitable, and it makes me feel a little better to know you’re with a man who loves you and will support and take care of you.” Dad kisses my cheek. “I love you, Lex.”

“Thank you. I love you too, Dad.”

“They took it well,” I tell Alec, running my hand up his naked chest. We’re lying in bed and have just finished making love for the second time. After we got home from dinner with our parents, we beelined straight to his room and to bed, where we’ve spent the last couple hours.

“Of course they did.” He places a kiss to my temple. “We were apparently the only people who weren’t on board with us.”

“Hey, I was on board with us.” I poke him in the chest and then roll over onto my elbows. “I just didn’t think you were, and then once I knew you were, I was afraid you would change your mind, or if we did this and it didn’t work out, I would lose you… I’m still worried about that last one.”

Alec pulls me on top of him. “I love you, Lex, and I can’t say what the future holds because anything can happen.” He swallows thickly, and I know he’s thinking about his dad. “But as long as I’m alive and you’re willing to let me love you, I’m going to spend every day loving you.”

Since we’re both still naked, I reach behind me and take his hard length into my hand, guiding it inside me. I sigh once I’m completely seated and our bodies are connected in the most intimate way. Leaning forward, I take Alec’s face into my hands and whisper against his lips, “And I’m going to spend every day loving you back.”

Lexi

“That was the perfect fucking air wave,” Shane says, dropping onto the sand next to me. “If you hit the waves at the comp like you’ve been doing, I wouldn’t be surprised if you take the entire thing. Your life will be changed. Tours, endorsements…”

“That would be awesome,” I admit, grabbing a bottled water, twisting the top off, and taking a large gulp. I let Shane’s words bump around in my head for a few minutes. For as far as I can remember my world has revolved around art and surfing, but up until now, they felt like hobbies. My parents always tell me how creative I am, and my friends comment on how good of a surfer I am, but none of that means anything if I can’t create a future with them. But Shane is right, if I win this competition, I can make a career out of it.
