“Make love to me,” I tell him, grabbing his shoulders and pulling him back up to me. “Make me yours.”

“It would be my pleasure.”

The next week is filled with seeing the sights. We visit so many art galleries, and I take millions of pictures. When we aren’t out sightseeing, we’re holed up in our room, making love. I wish our honeymoon could last forever, but all too soon, it comes to an end and we’re forced to return home…back to reality.

Lexi

Three Weeks Later

“How’d it go?” I ask Georgia as she walks through the door, her heels click-clacking against the wood floor. She looks so grown up and professional in her blazer, pencil skirt, and heels that she wore to court. Dad walks in behind her, also dressed smartly in a gray suit.

“Hilda settled.” Georgia smiles softly. “I am no longer the owner of Reynolds Oil.”

“What does that mean?” Mom asks.

We all wanted to be with Georgia, to support her, but her attorney felt it was best for only her and our dad to go. He managed to fast track it, and he didn’t want Hilda to feel like she was being ganged up on and, in turn, create more problems. So, we’ve been waiting all morning at my parents’ house to find out how it went.

“It means your sister is a millionaire,” Dad says with a laugh.

“What?” I screech. “She bought it for a million dollars?”

“Way more than that,” Georgia says. “But based on what the attorney said, she still got it for a lot less than I could’ve sold it for. And it turns out, Justin left me a trust fund as well.”

“She should be thankful Georgia is so generous,” Dad says, kissing Georgia on her temple.

“Wow, congratulations!” I hug her. “I’m glad this is all past you now.” I know she’s been stressed out over it, wanting to get it all settled. “So, what are you going to do now that you’re a mega wealthy millionaire?”

Georgia snorts. “I don’t even know. It’s all so weird… and I hate that it’s all from a man who tried to keep me from our mom and then tried to kill her.”

“Hey,” Mom says. “That money is rightfully yours. Put it away, invest it… you have time to figure it out, but don’t feel guilty for having it.”

Georgia nods. “Okay.”

“Congratulations,” Alec says as Mila and Mason walk through the door with his sister, Anna. Since I’m officially twelve weeks today, we’re planning to tell everyone that we’re expecting. Alec went with me to my last appointment and the baby’s heartbeat was strong. We got new pictures of the little bean and we’re so excited to finally be able to share our news with everyone.

“Hey, sweetie,” Mila says to Alec, kissing his cheek. “Lexi.” She kisses my cheek as well, then has a seat on the couch next to her husband. Dad tells Mason and Mila how court went while we wait for Max and Chase to get here.

Once they both arrive, and everyone is seated, Mason says, “So, let’s have it. Mila has been dying to know your news. You can’t text your mother that you have something to tell us and leave her hanging. She’s been driving me crazy.”

“I agree,” Mom says. “I’ve been going nuts.”

“Oh, c’mon,” Chase says. “Like you guys don’t know.” He scoffs.

“Know what?” Mila asks.

“I’ll let them tell you,” he says with a smirk.

“Since you think you know, tell us,” I taunt. There’s no way he—

“Fine, Alec knocked up Lexi.”

Everyone gasps, and Alec grabs the magazine off the coffee table and smacks Chase with it.

“You’re pregnant?” my dad asks, his eyes going wide and straight to my still flat belly. I’ve started to put on a little weight and my clothes are fitting differently, but I don’t have a present baby bump yet.

“Yes,” I tell everyone. “I’m twelve weeks pregnant.”

“I knew it,” Georgia says. “I can’t believe you tried to keep it from me, though.” She side-eyes me half-jokingly.

“We wanted to wait until the twelve-week mark,” I explain.

“Yeah, yeah.” She stands and gives me a hug. “Congratulations.”

“Wow,” Mom says. “I’m going to be a grandma!”

Everyone jumps up and hugs us… Well, everyone except my dad and Mason. They’re now standing against the wall, next to each other, with their arms crossed over their chests.

“Are you mad?” I ask my dad nervously.

“No,” he says, tears pricking his eyes. “I’m just trying to figure out how the hell you went from my little girl, the one who colored all over the walls and hated boys, to being a wife and now a mother.”

Mason huffs. “If I didn’t love Alec as much as I do, I’d threaten to kick his ass for knocking up my goddaughter.”

Both guys step forward and envelop me in a hug, each congratulating me. “We’re really excited,” I tell them.
