“I thought I might burst a blood vessel in my neck; I came like a freight train.”

“There’s definitely something with her. Something different to with other women.” I said to the others. “You need to sleep with her, see if it's the same.”

“So much for the whole let's be friends thing.” Flynn said wrily.

“I believe we've found our 'one' and the sooner we confirm this the sooner we can really get this underway.” I said. “The thought of sharing her between the four of us is driving me crazy.”

“Well, I’ll see what happens tomorrow. I’m certainly not pressuring her to sleep with me. I said I’d take some photos of her and that’s exactly what I’ll do.”

“It all needs to be natural. I agree.” I told him. “But that’s what happened in the car. I had no intention of fucking her, just to take her home, but it didn’t work out that way.”

Smith stood up.

“Where are you going?” I asked him.

“To kick everyone out and get my house back. I want to climb into my bed and jerk off for hours thinking about Serena. Seriously, guys, I never felt anything like it. I think she’s the addiction I’ve been searching for.”

“Thought you were all, ‘she’s shady',” Jayden scoffed.

Smith shrugged. “Ted hasn’t found anything so far. There’s a remote possibility I was wrong.”

“Smith Henderson admitting he could be wrong? What is happening in this world? Have aliens landed?” I laughed, winking at him.

“I’m still looking into it though. I’m not giving up yet. Not until all her references have checked out.”

I shook my head at him. “Come on, guys, let’s leave Smith alone with his best friend, his cock.”

We said our goodbyes and left. I knew exactly how Smith was feeling. I was replaying our fuck in my mind over and over and my hard on was raging in my boxers.

They called vampires the undead, but Serena made me feel very much alive.

Chapter Seventeen

Phone call from Ted Johnson, Owner Malibu Dream to unknown.

“Smith’s asking questions about Serena. He asked me to do a background check.”

“Always so suspicious that boy. Have you put him off?”

“I’ve told him I’m still double checking them but that nothing untoward has surfaced so far.”

“Thank you. Not long now and I can reveal myself.”

“Well, I thought I’d better let you know in case yo

u needed to bring your plans forward.”

“Thank you, Ted. So far everything seems to be working out perfectly.”

Chapter Eighteen

Flynn

The doorbell rang at five pm precisely. I took a deep inhale because I honestly didn’t know what to expect. What had happened last night had meant me deliberating deep thoughts until the early hours.

I’d given the housekeeper the evening off and answered the door myself. “Hey.” I said to her. She was wearing a pale-blue top and white trousers, and was wheeling a suitcase. “I didn’t know what to wear, so I brought a selection.” She said.

I smiled. “What you have on is perfect. The blue and white complement your hair color and skin tone. Come on through. Do you want a drink?”
