The Billionaire and the Assistant (The Billionaires 3)

What the hell just happened?

All I could assume was that I’d taken advantage of her good nature one too many times. Yes. It made sense that asking her to work late and then cancelling at the last minute would make her pissed. Especially, if she’d been looking forward to going to the restaurant. Yes, now I could understand volcano o’clock.

It was so unlike Alex though. Dare I say it? Maybe it was that time of the month too? I decided to pick up a bouquet of flowers to take to the restaurant as way of an apology. It was something you’d do on a date as well.

I arrived at the restaurant at a quarter to eight so that I’d hopefully be there and settled before Alex’s arrival. Jesus, I was so goddamn nervous. I’d spent a half hour this evening making a list of business issues I could discuss so that I didn’t freeze up. By the time it got to ten minutes past eight I was sweating like a pig and had to remove my jacket and loosen my tie. So much for looking smart this evening. I’d also already downed three scotches. Christ, I’d better calm the fuck down as it was hardly professional to slur your words at your assistant.

And then she was brought to the table and I swear my heart stopped beating. Her short blonde hair was tousled slightly, her face painted to perfection with cosmetics that made her look like a supermodel and she was wearing a short silver slip dress. Yes – a short dress. A very short dress. Now I’m a man but I’d do my best to describe it to you. Basically there was little of it. Thin straps and material that hung loosely on her body but at the same time accentuated those pert breasts. It skimmed her hips and rested just above her knees. My cock prevented me from doing the gentlemanly thing and standing to greet her and to pull out her chair as she’d have had something to hang her coat on if I’d have stood up. Instead I had to scoot myself further under the table, so she couldn’t see my boner.

Worst of all my mouth wouldn’t work as my head was all kinds of confused.

This isn’t work attire - is she going on a date afterwards?

I’ll fucking kill anyone who goes near her.

Shall I give her my jacket because I’ve already seen one guy check her out.

I swear to God I wasn’t this pathetic when I was a teenager and a virgin. Business Alex I could cope with. This Alex, sexsational Alex—yes that’s the word I was going for—well, I was doomed to hell. In fact, at that moment a tiny part of me hoped for a minor heart scare so I could have escaped via 911 and not had to proceed.

Alex ordered a drink, and I got through the next minute by pointing at my empty scotch glass and nodding when the waitress asked if I wanted another. I put my fingers up to say two and secured an order for a double. The waitress took away the empty glasses.

“Are you okay, Eli?” Alex asked me. “You seem to be drinking a lot. Has something happened?” Her face was creased in concern.

“Err, Mr. Saunders managed to pop in after all. We met at seven for a quick drink and business chat, so, that’s why there are all the empty glasses.”

Alex sat back in her chair and crossed one leg over the other. My eyes headed straight for the juncture of her thighs and I caught a glimpse of silver silk panties. Fuck.

“Can we cut the bullshit here, Eli?”

“Excuse me?” My eyes widened.

“Let’s just get things clear and in the open right now. There has never been a Mr. Terry Saunders. You set this up, so that we were here alone though you then wimped out and tried to cancel. Now, you can either treat this like the date it is and stop acting like a douche, or you can tell me you’re not interested and I’ll go home. You’ve one chance, Eli. We’ve been dancing around each other for years. It ends tonight one way or another. So, what’s it to be?

Wow. The woman I’d fantasized over for years had called me out on it. Cards were on the table. She was into me. Oh my fucking God was this actually happening?

“Would you like to go out to dinner with me, Alex?” I finally croaked out.

“Yes, I would. I’d like to do a lot more than dinner, Eli, truth be told.”

Fuck dinner.

“Takeout at mine once we’ve made ourselves hungry?” I ventured, “or we can enjoy a nice meal. You tell me what you want, Alex, because I’m yours.”

“Take me to yours.” She demanded. “I’ve waited long enough.”

Without hesitation I threw hundreds of dollars onto the table and steered Alex out to my waiting driver, my hand in the small of her back. The flowers forgotten and abandoned at the side of my chair. I couldn’t believe I had my hand on her, feeling the warmth of her skin through the slim material. I opened the car door for her and we climbed inside where I asked the driver to put the privacy screen up and then we launched at each other. Lips crushing lips. My hand holding the back of her head, her arms fastened around my neck. My tongue plunged inside her eager mouth.

This. Was. Really. Happening.

Then my body remembered what it was like to touch someone you were head over heels for. Something that hadn’t happened since I’d fallen in love with my ex-wife. I’d had random hook-ups since, even dated some women for a few months, but nothing serious. My relationship with Katrina had made me build walls around myself. Walls that Ale

x, as I had gotten to know her more, had started to bring down. And now they were rubble lying around her feet.

The Eli of old was gone, taking the opportunity presented before him - Alex.

We made out all the way to my brownstone and then I carried her up the steps, only stopping to unlock my door. My hands had skirted her ass as I’d carried her and I couldn’t wait to get her inside my bedroom. I took hold of her hand and pulled her up the stairs behind me and then down the corridor into my room. I flicked a small lamp on and turned. Alex stood in the doorway, her face a picture of vulnerability as she bit her lip. There was no room for doubt here.

“Alex. I want you in my bed. I want to fuck you all night long and I need to tell you now that once that happens, you're mine. You understand? I’ve not come this far to lose you.”
