“Are you my grandma?” Kats eyes are big and filled with excitement.

“I am Printsessa.” she kisses her cheek as well.

“What is a print…” she scrunches her little face as she tried to pronounce the word.

“I called you a princess, little fairy.”

“Vik calls me that too.” I smile up at him and he pulls me further into him.

“I bet he does.” I laugh and walk her into the kitchen and just like that I have a mother.

His brother Lenin can’t make it, something about an emergency. The evening moves along. Dinner and dessert have been eaten. I have answered his mother’s numerous requests for more grandchildren and laughed at the antics of giggles now that she knows she has a willing audience other than me. I began to clear the table and take the dishes to the sink. Turning back around, I gasp as Viktor kneels in front of me.

“I have been waiting for this night. For this moment. I wanted to ask in front of everyone who matters in my life to be my wife. Be the other half of me in front of the eyes of God. Let me love you and our family for the rest of my life.” Oh my God. Oh my God. I nod my head crying and hiccupping. “Thank you, little Angel.” he places the most beautiful, cushion cut diamond Pave’ ring on my finger. He kisses my ring finger before turning to Katya. Pulling out a necklace with a princess crown and a diamond in the center, he places it on her neck.

“For you princess. I would very much like to be your big brother. Is that ok?”

“Of course, Vik.” she throws her arms around his neck and I cry harder. I never thought I would have a complete family. I envisioned Katya and I would be alone for the rest of our lives. Just she and I. But now, we have so much more and more to look forward too. Who knew that my sacrifice would lead to forever?

Epilogue

Viktor

“Are we all set, Mr. Semenov?” my assistant asks me as he picks up the documents from the table.

“Yes, Raddah. Please take the rest of the day off.” I get up out of my chair and grab my jacket. His eyes show disbelief.

“Sir?”

“Yes. I am done for the day. I will not be taking any calls and am not interested in anything for the rest of the week, actually. I am taking time to be with my family.” with that said I walk out of the conference room. My mind is only on getting home and slipping inside of my sweet wife.

The last five years have been happy, chaotic and filled with more love than I knew existed. Like I had planned, she was pregnant as soon I got my hands on her. We found out six weeks after I asked her to marry me. Thank God the wedding was already planned for four weeks from then. Our first child together was a daughter named Anya. From the very first cry she owned me, like her aunt/big sister Katya.

Holding my baby girl in my arms for the first time, changed everything I thought I knew about the world. This precious gift, that my Angel kept safe and pushed out, was like a new lens on an old pair of glasses. A year after Anya can Viktor Jr. who we fondly call V.J. He was followed by Katarzyna and then Paulina who is not ten months old. The icing on the cake is that my little Angel is not pregnant with twins. Yes. You heard me. She is currently five months pregnant with a boy and girl that we have named Luka and Halla. There is nothing more erotic than my wife when she swollen, ripe and leaking milk for me. I worship every stretch mark, every extra pound she gains and is slow to lose.

She is not just a mom and wife, however. A few months after Anya was born, I found her in the nursery just staring at her. When I asked her what was worrying her, she replied, “Nothing. Nothing is bothering me and that is the problem.” She went on to explain that she feels like she has an obligation to help those who are the same situation she found herself in. I asked her what she wanted to do, and she told me of her idea to open daycare with free childcare for single moms looking or trying to maintain a job. She also informed me she would like to buy a mansion and use it as single mother housing for women and children. She wanted to give scholarships for school and trade school and hire mentors to come in and teach them about budgeting, self-care and offer counseling services. To say I was impressed would be an understatement.
