I giggled at the name. That would take some getting used to. "I am happy. Are you?"

"More than should be humanly possible. Who knew putting a ring on someone's finger would feel this good?"

"Well, not just anyone," I corrected him, sliding my arms around his neck.

"No, obviously not. It took a pretty special lady to make me realize what happiness could be." He lowered his head, placing a tender kiss on my lips as we swayed back and forth to the music.

If I tried a million times, I don't think I could capture the beauty of the moment on paper. Some levels of pure bliss simply couldn't be expressed with words. The unparalleled contentment of seeing everyone's beaming faces as Alec spun me around into a dip before kissing my neck. The love and support from our friends and family, and finally, Alec and me together, on the threshold of new beginnings.

As a writer, days like today provided inspiration that lived inside my very soul. One day I would try to pen our love story, leaving nothing out. None of the doubts or mistakes that nearly tore us apart. Doing so would only tatter the fabric of a relationship that developed strength from complication. Someday our kids will read our story. They will understand that true love does not come easily, but in spite of the pain, the end result is totally worth it when you find that one special someone. Happily ever after can sometimes be messy, but perfection is often overrated.
