Awkward.

“Oh, ah, hey, Mama,” I said, and I’m pretty sure I blushed a little. That’s how dirty my thoughts about her son had just been.

“Good facial?” she asked, and I hoped she thought my face was red from my treatment.

“Amazing, actually,” I replied. “Where are you coming from?”

“Massage. Now I’m off to finish with my nails.”

“Me too.”

We walked in to see Alani finishing up with her toes under the dryer.

“Aren’t they pretty?” she asked, wiggling her fingers at us. She’d gone with the navy-blue nail and gold tips. They looked pretty badass. “Now I get to go have my massage. See you guys later.”

As she bounded out of the room, I found myself wishing that I’d saved my massage for last too, rather than getting it done right away. I found myself having massage envy, as I fought the urge to go schedule another one.

Maybe I can talk Cade into some rubs later tonight, I thought, then flushed again when I saw his mom’s eyes on me.

Naughty…

I cleared my throat and asked, “What color are you getting?”

“I don’t know,” she said as she perused the giant wall of colors. “I usually go with brown, but that seems so boring. Maybe I should change it up.”

“What are you wearing to the graduation?” I asked as I walked up to stand next to her.

“A black dress with red flowers that Alani picked out.”

“You should definitely go for this, then,” I said, holding up a bottle of fire-engine red nail polish.

“I don’t know…”

“It’ll be perfect,” I promised, then said, “Yay,” when she reluctantly took it from my hand.

I grabbed a pink so pale it was almost white, thinking it would really pop with my Hawaiian tan.

“Hello, ladies, can I offer you a refreshment? Juice, tea, coffee?” one of the salon technicians asked.

“I’d marry you for a coffee,” I replied, causing the young lady to giggle.

“Just water for me, please,” Mama said.

“Okay, right this way,” she said, then set us up at side-by-side pedicure stations.

“This is the life I deserve,” I said, quoting something Elin said all the time, as I leaned back in the massage chair, coffee in hand, while my technician rubbed oil into my legs.

Utter bliss.

“Cade, if you can’t be quiet, I’m going to stop. I can’t believe we’re doing this again,” I said, looking up at him while on my knees.

Cade chuckled, his face sexy and flushed from the blow job I was giving him.

“Babe, the shower’s on, the sink’s running, and you put a towel under the door, I think we’re safe,” he replied, his hand flexing deliciously in my hair.

“Not if you keep moaning like a porn star,” I argued.

After our spa day, we’d come home to find the men barbecuing while the kids played in the ocean with Boone. We’d enjoyed dinner outside, watched the sunset while drinking wine, well, I was drinking wine, then wound the evening down inside with one of the kids’ favorite movies, Moana.
