I need a day at home with my boy. “Can you stay home with me today?” I ask hopefully.

“No, presh,” he whispers into the top of my head.

“I want to spoil you and I think you need some R and R, Josh.”

He smiles. “Do you now?”

“What have you got on today?” I ask, already knowing the answer. Cam told me yesterday.

He stays silent for a moment while he forms his answer in his head. “I am having James Brennan charged with blackmail.”

My stomach drops, oh crap. I was hoping he had changed his mind on that. I stay silent.

He pulls back to look at my face. “What?” he frowns.

I shrug.

“You don’t think I should?” he asks, affronted.

I blow out a heavy breath. “No Josh, I don’t. Not yet anyway.”

“Why ever not? The bastard is living the high life on my money,” he snaps as his anger simmers dangerously close to the surface.

“Think about it, Joshua. If the paparazzi can get hold of the recording of the 911 call I made to the police when we were getting burgled what do you think they will do when they get hold of this information? And you know that they will.”

He sits up in a rush, obviously annoyed at my opinion.

“This is something that needs to be kept behind closed doors, Joshua, for your father’s sake,” I sigh.

He stands and walks over to the window and looks out as he processes my words. My eyes drop to his large naked body and I ache for his broken heart.

I sit up slowly and pool the blankets around my waist. “Joshua, this was your father’s best friend and I know that you are angry and hurt but you need to let your dad deal with this the way he wants to. This isn’t just about you.”

His dark eyes meet mine. “I despise James Brennan, every fucking thing about him.”

Pity fills me. “I know, honey, and I’m sorry you have to go through this shit.” I drop my head as I search for the perfect thing to say… not a damn thing in my empty frigging head.

“What if she doesn’t tell him? Dad I mean,” he murmurs. “What then?”

I shrug. This thought has crossed my mind too. “I’m not sure.”

He walks over and sits on the bed. “Do you think I should tell him?”

I shrug again. “You need to just take your time and not rush into anything that you may regret.” He nods again as he chews his thumbnail deep in thought.

I stand and walk over to him sitting on the end of the bed and pull his head into my body. “You know what we should do today?” I smile.

“Do tell?” he mutters flatly into my stomach.

I widen my eyes in excitement and his lips curl into a trace of a smile. “We should go and buy our wedding rings and a suit for you to wear to get married in.”

He smirks as I bend to kiss him. “What do you think?” I smile into his lips.

“Can we get married today?” he asks hopefully.

I shake my head. “No, we cannot get married today. I don’t even have my dress yet. Adrian, the girls and I are getting it next week.”

“I’ve got heaps of suits,” he replies flatly.
