“Yes.”

“In that case, run a tab,” Michael told the bartender as he replaced the twenty with a credit card, which he set on the counter.

The bartender nodded and made his way down the bar to serve another customer.

Diamond’s pupils danced with dollar signs as she eyed the AMEX card. Michael L. Ricci, MD was clearly written on the bottom of the card.

“So what is a beautiful woman like you doing here alone?” Michael smiled a Colgate smile at her that caused her vagina to pulsate.

“Well, technically I’m not alone. I’m here with my son and his friends. They went to a concert over at the Sands.” Diamond lied as she took a sip from her drink. Dante wasn’t there in AC with them. But what else could she have told him on why she was there with a bunch of young male teens?

“You look like you could use another drink.” He noticed her glass was almost empty. “Bartender!” he called.

The bartender looked in his direction.

“Give her another one.” He held up Diamond’s glass. “Now back to you. So you brought your son and his friends to a concert?”

“Yes.” Diamond smiled nervously. She didn’t know what was going on with her. For one, she had never before dated nor slept with a white man, not to mention she was always in control when it came to men. But there was something about this man that had her giddy as a teenager.

“Well, the way I see it, you are alone.” He never took his eyes off hers.

“Well, yeah, if you look at it that way, then you’re right.”

“Are you staying overnight, or are you just down for the concert?”

“I’m staying overnight.”

“Hmm.”

Dr. Ricci nodded and took a swig from his glass, and so did Diamond. They were both silent as they sat there drinking. Every once in a while he glanced at Diamond’s mountain of cleavage.

“Diamond, huh?” he said. “You must be a rare gem.” He smiled at her.

Diamond smiled. “Something like that.”

“Where are you from?”

“Newark.”

“Really?” he asked, surprised.

“Yes. Why?”

“What a coincidence. My office is in East Orange.”

She smiled. “Really?”

“Yeah, small world.”

“It sure is.” She chuckled.

“So, tell me something about yourself, Diamond.”

The two of them drank, laughed, and talked for more than two hours. It was as if they had known each other for years. Diamond found out he divorced his wife because he caught her cheating with one of his colleagues.

“Are you kidding me?” Diamond asked, surprised.

“No, I wouldn’t kid about something like that. I caught them in the act.” Dr. Ricci drained his fifth gin and tonic.
