“Oh, it’s like that? You don’t have love for me? What happened to brotherly love?”

“You just fucked that up by going up against blood. Man, just start the car and take me back to the office so I can get my own car.”

Diamond paced in the interrogation room as she waited anxiously for Kyle to arrive. “So they think I’m stupid,” she said out loud. “Something is going on, and I ain’t the one for the game. They got the right bitch.” She huffed.

Several minutes later, Kyle walked through the doors.

Diamond rushed over to him. “It’s about damn time you got here!”

“Hold on, Diamond.” Kyle threw his hand up to stop her from getting up in his face. He gently grabbed her arm and ushered her over to the table, where he laid his briefcase.

Diamond yanked away from his grip and whirled around to face him. “You better tell me what the fuck is going on, and I want to know now!” she said through gritted teeth.

Kyle sat in the chair and leaned back. He gazed at Diamond as she stood there with her hand on her shapely hips. Even with the prison jumpsuit on, he could still see her hourglass figure.

Kyle and Diamond had had plenty of conversations over the phone and in person about the case. Most times he came to see her alone and then relayed any information about the case to his brother. Dante never knew this. This was Diamond’s way of keeping control over the situation. She knew Kyle was the stronger lawyer and smarter brother and acted as lead counsel in most of their cases.

Kyle shook his head at her. He liked her feistiness. Under any other circumstances, he knew he would have fucked her, but he had to keep his head level and concentrate on the subject at hand.

“Diamond, sit down, please,” he said, extending his hand toward the empty chair.

“I don’t want to sit down. I want to know what’s going on, Kyle!”

“I will tell you if you just calm down and have a seat.”

“I said I don’t want to sit down,” she said, pronouncing every word clearly.

Kyle didn’t say a word. He just continued to gaze at her, and the two of them engaged in a staring match.

Diamond’s mood began to soften, but she was stubborn and didn’t want to be the one to give in first.

I know what she needs, Kyle thought. He stood and walked over to her.

She never took her eyes off him, and he never took his eyes off her.

Kyle stood inches away from Diamond, staring down at her. He gently grabbed her hand and led her over to the chair.

Diamond felt like she was floating on a cloud.

Kyle helped her sit down and then walked back to his seat. He smiled at the way he’d tamed the wild beast.

Kyle had to make sure he chose his words wisely. Diamond was like a time bomb. He knew if he didn’t relay the situation to her in just the right way, she would blow.

“It is easier for my brother to represent your son, and me to represent you,” he said, giving her a sexy grin. “This way I can focus more on you.”

Diamond was all in, and wanted to do him right there on the table. She licked her lips and exhaled. “Why does my son need to have representation? I mean, both of you are representing both of us anyway, so why can’t y’all keep us together?”

“Diamond, you just said it yourself. My brother and I are representing the two of you anyway. So it doesn’t make any difference whether I represent you and my brother represents Dante. Besides, you and I have been meeting on this case alone for quite some time anyway.”

“Yeah, I guess you’re right. But why didn’t somebody tell me this? It made it look like y’all was being sneaky.”

“I know what it looked like, but there was no time to tell you. My brother and I discussed the matter ahead of time and decided in court. Dante was told just before my brother stood to question the witness.”

Diamond thought about what Kyle had told her. She wasn’t quite sure if he was gaming her. She would just have to keep a close eye on the brothers for now.

“Do you understand now?”
