“I’m just honest, that’s all.”

My cell phone started to vibrate right at that moment. I looked at it and noticed it was Nico.

Don’t let me have to beat your ass!

I sucked my teeth and sighed when I saw that message. I just ignored it and continued to ignore Nico as I had been doing all along.

“I would go back to the hotel and chill with you, but you probably meet all kinds of women coming through here. And, as sexy as you are, I’m sure you sex everything that moves,” I said.

Kelvin shook his head no.

“That’s not true?”

“No, it’s not. I’m a good dude.”

I looked at Kelvin as I continued to two-step with him to the music.

“You want me to tell you something I see about you?” Kelvin asked me.

“Yeah, tell me.”

“You’re a loyal person, but what’s going on is that you’re hurting on the inside because you’ve been hurt.”

“What’s that?”

“Never say never.”

“OK, now you’re scaring me, and I can’t even tell you why.” I laughed and put both of my hands in the air in surrender. “Get away from me.”

Kelvin smiled and asked me when I was leaving to go back to New York. I told him, and then he asked me if he could call me again.

“Yes, you can call me,” I said to him before he walked off with his friends.

As soon as Sharmel came over to me, I said to her, “Remember when I said at the pool that he could get it?”

She laughed and nodded her head.

“Well, I don’t even know his last name, but he is about to get it!”

“Mia, that’s just that liquor talking for you,” Sharmel replied as we made our way to another part of the club.

Maybe it was the liquor talking, but a half an hour later as I stood against one of the exposed brick walls inside Mansion nightclub, I decided to send Kelvin a text message.

What’s your room number?

Kelvin texted me back five minutes later with his response: 726
