“What’s wrong?”

“That look on your face.”

“What look?”

“The look that makes me want to take you back to bed and fuck you until we both pass out.”

“Hmmm, that sounds nice.” I sigh dreamily, peeking over his shoulder at his bedroom. “God, I love Sundays.”

“Eat,” he orders, getting up and taking his plate to the sink.

“Bossy,” I mutter under my breath.

“Finish your breakfast and I’ll show you bossy.”

I shovel a bite of pancake into my mouth and moan again at the taste of cinnamon exploding on my taste buds.

“Greer.” He stops loading the dishwasher and snaps his head to me. “Stop.”

“I can’t. This is delicious.”

“It’s a pancake.”

“It’s more than a pancake. It’s a delicacy. Cinnamon, powdered sugar, melted butter… The flavor combination is luscious.” I purposely draw out the word ‘luscious’ and lower my eyes over his bare chest until they land on the growing bulge in his pants.

“Jesus, only you can turn eating a pancake into sexual foreplay.”

I shrug, taking another bite and enjoying the heat building in his eyes.

My phone dings with a text message, Jenny’s name popping up on the screen.

Jenny—Bessie and I are coming over tonight. Time to plan the menu for next weekend.

My giddiness disappears.

Me—Can we do it tomorrow after work? I’m tied up today.

Jenny—The first thought that flashed in my mind is that you are actually tied up. Knowing that your boyfriend shreds your clothes, hauls you around like a caveman, and hides you away every Sunday makes me believe you may be embracing your kinky side.

I snort embarrassingly loud and cover my mouth.

“What’s so funny?” Lawson comes up behind me, resting his chin on my shoulder.

“Jenny.” I show him the screen.

“Tell her we haven’t explored the ropes yet, but I’ll put it on my list this week to pick some up.”

“I will not tell her that because she’ll believe it and somehow find a way to make a case study out of it.”

“Why does she think I haul you around like a caveman?”

“I may have mentioned that you barely let me walk when we’re alone together.”

“I can’t help that I like to carry you.”

“It’s a little excessive.”

“You want me to stop?”
