“So what kind of movies do you watch?”

“I’m not much of a movie guy, never have been.”

“Well, when you have younger siblings, you quickly learn that finding them movies they like is the best way to keep them entertained. I used to play Disney movies for them and watch scary stuff myself.”

“You said Lucas is in London. Why?”

“His high school has an exchange program. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for him to want to stay in the US for college. I’m lobbying for nearby schools. I miss him like crazy.”

“You’re an adorable creature.” He pushed my hair behind my ear, then he gave me a long, deep kiss that had me all tingly and fuzzy.

Not just because the kiss was twenty on a one-to-ten scale of hotness, but because he sounded genuine. He didn’t think I was a meddling mother hen.

Later, when the fire was about to die out, Winston put a fresh log on top of the burned ones.

I sighed, watching him. He looked at me questioningly.

“Just enjoying the view. I don’t know why, but watching you putti

ng wood on the fire does something to me. I think it’s possibly my favorite image of you.”

“Favorite? There’s a rank?”

“Obviously. This has the first spot.”

“And the second?”

“I’m still debating between you wearing a suit or that hot outfit you had on when you came to help with the walls.”

He laughed. “You’re very feisty.”

“Not always.”

“So it’s just for me?”

“Oh, yeah.”

He sat next to me on the floor, pulling me in his lap, kissing my shoulders.

“I like how smooth your skin is,” he murmured.

“Thanks.”

“And this delicious little ass. It’s tempting me on a daily basis at the office, ever since I saw you dance.” He lowered me on my back, kissing down my neck, kneading my ass. “I like the whole package,” he finished.

I laced my arms around his neck, keeping him close, kissing one corner of his mouth. I loved every word he was saying.

“I can say the same about you,” I murmured.

He trailed his fingers down my back, turning my skin into goose bumps.

“What was it that convinced you? My putting logs on the fire?”

“Well, that too, but the balance started tipping in your favor a while ago. I realized you can’t be too bad when you said that you want to protect your parents, so they don’t worry.”

He swallowed, looking up at me in surprise.

“You’re something else,” he murmured.
