Changed Man

“What do you think?”

“I think you are a man who came to Nassau looking for something that you have recently found.”

“And what is that?”

She laughed. “I am not a psychic, you know.”

“I know. But I’m interested in your insight,” I sat up and said since it seemed like she had seen through me already. “What do you think I found?”

Felicia sat up. “When I first look at you, I think to me self, this is a man who is troubled by something. Perhaps he has done some wrong or some harm to someone.”

“And you could tell all that from just looking at me?”

“It is the way you lean against the rail and hold your head with a troubled brow,” Felicia said.

“And now?”

“As days pass, you seem to relax —”

“I think you had a lot to do with that.”

She laughed. “Yes, me and Cortisha Walker,” Felicia said and since she still seemed good with it, once again, I said nothing. “But, now, you seem as if you are more at peace with yourself and whatever it is that you have done. So, I believe it is peace that you sawt.”

When the phone rang again, Felicia laughed and got out of bed. “I’ll give you some privacy while you talk to Cortisha Walker,” she laughed, and I watched her go in the bathroom and close the door before I answered the phone.

Of course, Felicia was right, it was Cortisha. She said that she had a surprise for me and if it was all right with me, she would come by around two to pick me up.

“See you then,” I said and hung up the phone. I heard the shower come on and took that as my invitation to join Felicia.

After we had sex in the shower, Felicia called room service and since it was her calling, our food was there and smoking hot in fifteen minutes. We spent the rest of the morning doing what we had been doing since we met, and she kissed me goodbye at the door. As I watched her walk away, I saw Cortisha get off the elevator. They passed without incident.

“So, tell me about this surprise.”

“I know that you said that you wanted to go out on the water while you were here. So I arranged for us to sail to Freeport,” Cortisha said.

“I like the sound of that,” I said excitedly.

“I thought we could spend some time in Freeport and then sail back in a day or two.”

“That sounds even better.”

When I left the hotel with Cortisha, she drove us to the marina and then we walked down to the dock. As I walked by the yachts, I thought about my promise to buy one of my own someday. At the time, I thought his shit was nice, but these bad boys made Andre’s shit look like a canoe.

“Which one we going on?” I asked, as I walked by in awe.

“That one,” Cortisha said and pointed.

It wasn’t one of the big boys we had just passed, but it was a nice midsized yacht that was still twice the size of Andre’s.

“Permission to come aboard,” Cortisha yelled.

The man on the deck laughed and waved us on. I helped Cortisha aboard as the man approached us.

“Welcome aboard! You must be Ms. Walker?”

“Yes, and this is Mr. Black.”

“My name is Oscar,” he said and shook both of our hands. “I’ll be your captain for your trip to Freeport. Come, let me show you around so you can get comfortable.”
