His Secret Sin

« Prev  Chapter  Next »

He didn’t want to get married. Not to fucking Charlotte Durante, that was for sure.

His cell phone started to ring, interrupting his thoughts. Not that they were good thoughts. Mostly he thought about killing Charlotte and making it look like an accident. Only, they would find another suitable daughter. If one wasn’t ready yet, he’d have to wait for her to come of age, and then he’d marry, or the capo title would be handed to Angelo.

“Diego,” he said, answering the call.

“Yeah, we’ve got a problem,” Richard said.

This made Diego tense. “Has Angelo made his move?”

Since he’d teamed up with Richard, their mutual enemy being his good cousin Angelo, they had been gathering evidence so Diego could present it to The Boss. With hard proof of Angelo’s deception and lack of loyalty, he’d be able to kill him without a single problem.

Only … Angelo had decided to play it safe for the past couple of weeks. There was no dirt on him, and he couldn’t exactly charge him with fucking women as an offence.

It pissed Diego off, but he figured his cousin couldn’t be entirely stupid, otherwise he’d have been caught out by now. His true self would have been shown.

They hadn’t gotten this far in life by being stupid.

“Your girl was snatched by a couple of pimps two hours ago,” Richard said. “My guy tracked them to a rundown block.”

Diego laughed. “Nice try. Belle’s at home. She was spending the day listening to her books.”

“According to my guy, she left to meet a friend. A blonde that looked like she had seen better days. They got into a fight, the blonde left, and Belle started to make her way home. Only, she ended up in some guy’s hands.”

“You got the address?” Diego asked.

“Yes. Diego, these men, they’re heavily armed, and they have got a whole block of women and johns.”

“I don’t give a fuck.” He ended the call, grabbing his gun from the safe. Ignoring his men, as they would follow him anyway, he made his way down to his car, going to the trunk and pulling out his loaded weapon. Richard had already sent him the location where his woman was.

He was fucking pissed.

In his city, there was an operation of pimps, and this wasn’t one that was paying them the rent.

That gave him an excuse to take them all out. Their lack of respect to his name. But what pissed him off was them thinking they could take his woman.

When he climbed behind the wheel, four of his men got into the car. He didn’t have the time to argue with them, and besides, he would need all the help he could get.

Pulling away from the curb, he ignored the car that honked its horn as he pulled in front of it.

The place he was driving to was a rundown piece of shit. He knew of it, because he’d been tempted to purchase the land, demolish the crumbling building, and rebuild luxury apartments. The only problem was that the area had one of the highest crime rates and in all honesty, was a piece of shit. No matter how luxurious he’d make the apartments, no one would live there for an exorbitant price. Even he wouldn’t do that, but he had found Melanie around that area.

She had been pissed but had also tried to blackmail him for money. She had been fucking high, and from the track marks in her arms at the time, she had been using hard. He didn’t for a second believe Belle used drugs. Still, when he got back to her place after talking with Melanie, and warning her away from Belle, he’d inspected every single inch of her body and found nothing. Just a few scars from her accident all those years ago.

His woman was clean, but then, he hadn’t expected anything else.

Coming to a stop at the building, he stared at the mess. Lights were on in odd rooms, and he saw a couple of semi-naked women on the outside. They looked a mess. There was nothing classy about them. Desperation and degradation clung to them, and seeing it, knowing his woman was in there, pissed him off.

Picking up his cell phone, he pocketed the thing and climbed out of the car. One of the men was smoking against the side of the building. He wore dirty jeans and had a chain hanging from the pocket.

Anger filled Diego.

He loaded his gun—being around Belle, he’d kept it unloaded—and fired, hitting the man in the head. The man went down, and the women started to scream.

He ignored them. No one would call the cops, not in this neighborhood. Or if they did, the cops never came.

He entered the building, saw another guy, and shot again.

Making his way up the stairs, he saw used condoms, needles, dirt, and shit. It was a fucking disease pit waiting to happen.
