“Yeah, totally.”

We said goodbye, and he went inside. I drove myself home, a little exhausted but maybe a little hopeful as well.

I got home and wanted to clear my mind of Sean. While I was hopeful that he might like me, I didn’t want to get my expectations up. I already had my own reservations about any kind of relationship. And I didn’t even know if he’d want to date me.

“Ugh…” I felt sixteen again. Obsessed with a boy and barely able to deal with my own feelings.

I picked up a broom and tried sweeping my pretty clean floors just to keep my mind occupied, but all I could think about was how handsome Sean looked. He was so good-looking now, but he still had that dorky charm and smile that made my heart flutter.

Jesus Christ!

The cleaning wasn’t working, so I put the broom away and rushed upstairs to take a shower. Maybe that would scrub my mind of all these thoughts of Sean.

I got undressed and stepped under the hot spray of my shower. My shoulders relaxed as the water ran down my body. There was a momentary reprieve before my mind decided to wander.

I wondered about what it would be like to sleep with Sean. He looked a lot more muscular now. I wanted to run my hands down his body and feels his hands touch me everywhere. It had been a while since I had been intimate with anyone, but I felt like having sex with Sean would be exciting beyond the thrill of breaking my dry spell.

I couldn’t tell if he would be a gentle lover or rough. Both possibilities sent a shiver down my spine. I ran my hand down my stomach until my fingers reached my mound. I went lower, pushing my fingers into my body. Moaning, I imagined what it would be like to have Sean behind me, pressed into my body as he moved his fingers inside me. I planted my palm on the shower wall to keep myself upright as my legs began to tremble.

I kept going, thinking about how badly I wanted Sean. How I wanted his tongue to taste every inch of me. How I wanted to explore all of his body. I wanted him so intensely, it almost hurt.

My muscles contracted as my whole body flushed. I gasped as I came, my pussy clamping down on my fingers.

After a few moments, I removed my hand from inside myself and rinsed it off with the water coming from the showerhead. I cleaned my whole body and then got myself dressed for bed.

As I lay down, I looked up at my phone, staring at Sean’s number. It was late, but something in me said to call. I pressed the call button and put my phone to my ear without much thought, listening to it ring. My heart thumped in my chest as I waited for Sean to answer.

“Hello?”

“Sean! It’s Chloe. I know it’s late, but I was wondering if you would want to get lunch tomorrow and catch up?” I felt like I had just thrown up that sentence. But I knew if I didn’t spit it all out at once, I was never going to ask him.

“Oh, um…”

“If you’re busy, that’s fine.” I could hear his hesitancy. Maybe I shouldn’t have called. He probably thought I was some desperate weirdo.

“No, I’m not busy. I can meet you at the Main Street Diner at noon.”

“Noon? That’s perfect. I’ll see you then!”

We said goodbye and then hung up. I wasn’t entirely sure what I was doing, but it felt good. Seeing Sean gave me some hope. I had a chance to do what I should have done ten years ago, and I wasn’t going to waste it.

Chapter Three – Sean

I woke up to the sounds of my grandmother walking around the house. It was still dark out, and when I checked the time, it was four-thirty in the morning. I groaned because I had gotten to bed quite late last night. I wanted to tell myself it had to do with my car breaking down, but Chloe calling was the actual cause. I couldn’t understand why she would want to have lunch with me. It was all so confusing and something I didn’t feel like thinking about so early in the morning.

I tried to fall back asleep, but my grandmother was making so much noise, I couldn't relax. Finally, I decided it was better to just get out of bed. On my way to the bathroom, I ran into my grandmother, spritelier than anyone should ever be that early.

“Sean! You’re awake, great! Why don’t you help me with the morning chores after you get yourself cleaned up?”

“Okay, Grandma.” There was no way I couldn’t agree.

“Wear clothes you don’t mind getting dirty!” she told me as she headed downstairs.
