Ugly Beast (Hell's Bastards MC 1)
Ugly Beast knew he was right.
“We split,” Hunter said. “Garofalo is going to assume Ugly goes for his woman. Why not go for his woman, and we continue with what we started? This is what we live for right? Ride or die. I say I’d rather die than let that fucker win.”
There was a round of cheers.
Smokey looked at Ugly Beast.
“She’s pregnant, Smokey. I promised I’d protect her.”
“I know. I’m trying to think what is the best way of doing this.” Smokey ran a hand down his face. “Splitting up is not an option. We divide, we lose.”
“I can’t let her get hurt any more than she is being right now.”
“He could be lying about her being pregnant?”
“I didn’t use rubbers,” Ugly Beast said, staring at his president. “I do everything you ask of me. Don’t ask me to do this.”
“We all go together. Garofalo doesn’t want me getting his girls, the fucking pedophile, fine, we all go to him.” Smokey threw his cell phone at Ugly Beast. “We need to know where he’s hiding, Ugly, and we need to know now.”
Ugly Beast stared down at the cell phone. He was in fucking shock, had to be. He dialed the number, putting the cell to his ear.
If Abriana was truly pregnant, it meant he was going to be a daddy.
He helped to bring a child into this world.
Him.
A monster.
The scarred fuck with a past he didn’t want anyone to know about.
The man on the other end answered the call.
“Drago, where is he?”
“Don’t do this,” Sebastian Drago said.
“He’s got Abriana.” Drago cursed. “I’m not going to let her get hurt because of the club. I need to know where he and Vigo would take someone they’re torturing.” His hands were shaking, but not with nerves. He was pissed off. Drago didn’t answer. “I don’t care if this causes war, I will fucking murder every single one of you, do you understand me?”
“Umberto!”
“Tell me where he is,” he said. His voice was calm. He would see through his threat. Abriana was his responsibility. He had left her at the clubhouse believing she was safe, and she was anything but. Now he was pissed off, angry, and was ready to fight to get what he wanted.
With the club at his back, it was now or never. They had played their cards tonight, and Garofalo had counteracted it with his own. Now it was time to take the fight to him. To kill him on his own turf.
Besides, Garofalo had just given him a good reason for the war, and why he could take him out. The agreement they signed with the outfit was with the understanding of marriage. Unless Garofalo made it aware of his love of underage girls, he’d broken their treaty, not them.
Ugly Beast waited.
“You don’t give me the answers I need, I will slaughter everyone you hold dear. I’ve got nothing left to lose, remember that.”
Drago sighed. “I hope your wife is okay.” Drago gave him a location that was on the outskirts of the city. It was a boarded up old junkyard. It had gone out of business years ago. The land never been bought up.
He hung up and handed the cell phone back to Smokey.
“I’ve got to do this,” he said, looking at Smokey.
“You want to tell me what this means?”
He looked at his president without flinching. “It means I’ve got to go and get my wife.”
“For a guy who didn’t give a shit about her, you’re rushing off to defend her.”
“I made the vow to the club, but I promised to keep her safe. She put the club first.” He wasn’t about to tell Smokey he felt guilty. They hadn’t parted on the best terms, and she probably expected him to let her die.
He was so fucking angry at Raven for letting Abriana out of her sight. He’d deal with her when they got to the clubhouse.
Smokey nodded. “Give me the location.”
Ugly Beast told him the location, and as they gathered around, he listened to the plan with half an ear. He rarely did what he was told. As the Sergeant at Arms, it was his role to make sure they all got out with their lives intact. He didn’t have time to make friends or follow instructions.
With their orders in place, they all climbed onto their bikes, revving the machines, ready to take off.
“Are you ready for this?” Smokey asked.
“No.”
“You know you’ll get to kill him tonight. This will be your only chance. You let this fall through your fingers, you’ll never get another.”
“I know what this means, and I’m ready. You don’t have to worry about me.”
Gunning his engine, he took off into the night, following the rest of the club. They all had his back, every single one of them willing to fight for him.
