The Darkest Of Light (The Kings of Retribution MC)

Now here we are. Standing in front of the altar on the edge of the lake out at Bella and Logan’s house. I’m wearing a long, flowing white wedding dress with a halter style bodice. Beautiful white jasmine flowers have been delicately intertwined into a loose braid that is swept over my right shoulder. Simple and elegant.

Gabriel is making good on his promise. I’m about to become Alba Martinez.

Logan is standing at Gabriel’s side and my sister by mine while she holds a sleeping Gabriel, or as most of us like to call him, baby Gabe. He is a complete replica of his father, aside from his blue eyes, which are a mirror image of my own. That little boy has filled us with more love than I could ever image.

After Gabe was born, Gabriel declared he would be giving his son a sibling right away. I told him he was out of his mind. No way was I having another baby for at least another couple of years. I should have known by the wicked gleam in his eyes that he was going to prove otherwise.

So, when I woke up three mornings ago sick to my stomach and throwing up, I knew Gabriel had gotten what he wanted, and the positive pregnancy test I took later that day proved him right. I plan on telling him tonight.

We decided to forgo a honeymoon and instead opted to let Bella and Logan keep Gabe for the night. Gabriel and I have never been away from him, so I’m predicting we won’t make it through the night before coming back over to my sister’s house to pick him up.

As I prepare to walk down the aisle, I watch our friends and family begin to take their seats. My heart sinks when I see Reid struggle with his wheelchair. Mila goes to help him, but she quickly withdraws when he snaps his head up at her and says something I can’t make out. I can’t help but feel guilty.

"I know what you’re thinkin’, sweetheart. It’s not your fault and nobody blames you, not even him," Jake says from beside me. Giving him a slight nod, I try not to think about the what ifs. Instead, I focus on the man waiting at the end of the aisle for me.

"You ready?" Jake asks while offering me his arm. Jake is the closest thing I have to a father. Asking him to give me away was a no brainer. When I hear the music start, I look to Jake and take his offered arm replying, "Yes."

Looking into Gabriel’s eyes, I recite the vows I have written. He doesn’t know this, but after I wrote them I asked Leyna to teach me Spanish so I could surprise him.

After being released from the hospital, Leyna went back to Seattle with Lex. We have been using FaceTime every day for her to teach me. To say things between Gabriel and his sister are a little strained is an understatement. Still, I told Leyna I was proud of her for following her heart, and I had no problem calling Gabriel out on being an asshole.

Some people may call us crazy for letting Quinn officiate our wedding, but when we made the announcement he was so excited I couldn’t tell him no. At first, we were all a little skeptical when he announced he had his license, but Gabriel had Reid check into it and sure enough he was legit.

With all the people I consider family watching on in support, I deliver the last line of my vows to Gabriel. "Tu eres mi hogar. You are my home."

"I don’t know what you just said, but it was sexy as hell," Quinn says as I complete my vows to Gabriel.

"What the hell you waitin’ for, brother? Kiss your woman," Quinn urges with a goofy grin.

Not paying any attention to his usual antics, Gabriel wraps his arms around me, lifting me off the ground and sealing his mouth over mine making us husband and wife.

Pulling back, he nuzzles my neck and whispers into my ear, "Llegas a mi vida como un sol. Tu eres la luz de mi oscuridad. You arrive into my life like the sun. You are the light to my dark."

THE END
