Cupid's Arrow (Devils Rejects MC 4)
Eugene, a prospect gives me a chin lift from behind the bar. “Thanks for covering for me.” I smile at him.
Grabbing his crotch, he winks, while shaking his pecker at me. “You can thank me later.”
I look away, trying not to cry. I know he means no harm and normally that sort of shit doesn’t faze me. I need to get myself in check. Cupid is blurring lines and making me second guess who I am.
The front doors open and in rolls Stephanie and her followers. The cunt club is what I call them. Well not to their faces. I can hate them all I want to in private but as old ladies of the brothers of this club I have to grin and bear their presence. They come in to hold their little lunches and meetings. I think they want to keep a presence so that all the whores and hangarounds don’t forget their place and to remind their men what they have at home.
The blonde headed bitch snaps her fingers in my direction. “Drinks!” She sneers.
“Coming right up.” Some days I wish I could bake her one of Minnie’s pies. That’d show the bitch. I laugh to myself as I serve them their drinks.
“What’s so funny? You better not of done anything to my drink. I don’t need to remind you that I’m Uno’s old lady,” Stephanie snaps and I want to spit my gum in her blonde curls.
Just smile and wave, my inner voice demands.
“She’s such a dirty skank,” I hear one of them say as I walk away.
I keep moving back to the bar one foot in front of the other. If I was a dirty skank I would be trying to fuck their husbands but I’m not and I don’t. The only old lady worth a damn is Amber, Terror’s wife. She’s a real class act and wouldn’t be caught dead at their table.
There’s a new girl with them that I have never seen hanging around the club before. Hades, the club president, doesn’t like strangers poking around. Outsiders don’t always understand our way of life. Bikers have a code. If you don’t follow that code, you could find yourself six feet under.
More club members start coming through the doors. The jukebox starts to play, and I look over to see Cupid playing pool.
He catches my eye and signals for a beer. When I start toward him I see that he’s playing with that new chick and my heart sinks to the floor. I don’t know why. It’s not like it is the first time I have witnessed him with someone else of the female persuasion.
“How do I hold the stick?” she flutters her lashes at him and I roll my eyes.
I shove his beer bottle into his hand and some sloshes out the top. He gives me a curious look. “You okay?”
Rolling my lips inward, I mumble, “mmhhm,” while nodding my head.
Sleeping with Cupid nearly every night for the past month and a half is fucking with my emotions. I need to pull back. I gotta put some space between us or I will be checking into the heartbreak hotel.
My stomach cramps and I realize it’s time for my period, I’m only hormonal. A wave of relief washes over me. I was feeling a bit crazy for a minute there.
“Can I get your lady friend a drink?”
He shrugs without looking at her or asking her. “I know something I want to eat later for dessert.” He grins, his brown eyes are burning bright with flecks of gold and a hint of green.
“Sorry, can’t. I have plans,” I lie.
“That’s cool. Some other time.” He gives me that sexy smirk that turns me on. Damn him.
“Yeah. Maybe.” I try to play it cool but inside I know I want nothing more.
“MaryAnn!” Zo Zo shouts from the bar. “Get your fine ass over here and serve me, woman.” He’s stroking his beard and eyeballing me hard.
“Are you gonna show me how to play?” The woman steals Cupid’s attention away and I hurry to see what Zo Zo wants.
“Where you been sleeping? Not seen you around for weeks.” Grabbing me by my hips, he jerks me forward as he thrusts his crotch upward.
“Aw, you been missing me?”
“Been missing these.” His large rough hands rub over the curve of my breasts. “Want to slide my cock between your tits.”
My cheeks burn. “Maybe I’ll let you later,” I tease. There is no maybe about it. If Zo Zo wants me he doesn’t need permission.
“Need another beer,” Cupid shouts as the song playing in the background fades away.
