Lady & The Biker (Royal Bastards MC: Charleston, WV 2)
“East does so yeah.”
“Good.” He sanitizes his hands and puts on a pair of clean gloves. East moves back and gives him room to work.
When he’s finished the sight of the tattoo takes my breath away. Roane added a compass next to the skull and it’s pointed East.
Chapter 14
Wylla Mae
“Are you shitting me right now?” I gape at East then stare back at the new black jeep. “It’s too much. I’ll be scared to drive it. What if I put a scra
tch on it?”
“Told you, baby. Want you in something I know that’s safe. And in this thing, I won’t ever have to worry that you can’t go in the snow or whatever.”
“Has Mom seen this?”
“Yeah. I think she was a little envious, but only the best for my girl.”
“You’re crazy. Like certifiable.”
“I got a good deal on it. Let’s just say someone owed me.”
“It is illegal?”
“Fuck no. You think I’d put you in a vehicle that was stolen?”
“No. Sorry.”
“Listen, I’ve got to go over to the clubhouse for church. Why don’t you get cleaned up, and I’ll text you with where to meet me at later?”
“Yeah. Sure. I have stuff I need to do. Wanna walk me inside? Mom went to Steve’s and said she’d be spending the night there,” I remind him.
“Better not. I’d be too tempted to get you naked.”
“You say naked like it’s a bad thing.”
“I just think it might be weird.”
“Because you and my mom… Got it.”
“Let’s not go there. That was ten years ago.”
“East…do you think she’d hate me… if she knew?”
“I think deep down, Wylla Mae, she’s always known that there was a connection between us. I never could perform if you were around which was most of the time. I can’t explain it. It’s like part of me always knew she wasn’t right for me. That we weren’t meant to be together. I kept hanging around because of the bond we shared. It was never anything more than love till now. But I still think she felt there was something between us. I think it scared her. Hell, it scared me too. Still does.”
“I scare you? You, the big tough Harley ridin’ biker, is afraid of me.”
“You’re the only thing that’s ever truly mattered to me so yeah, baby, you scare the shit out of me. You hold the power to break me.”
“You give me too much credit, East.”
He shakes his head then lights up a cigarette. “I gotta go.”
“Kiss me.” I lean into him and he grabs my hand.
“Not out here. C’mon.” He takes a few quick puffs then snuffs his cigarette out. We walk into the house and the moment East assesses that we’re alone he’s pushing me against the wall. “Need to be quick.”
