“Damn straight you are.” Splaying his fingers across her soft belly, he unlocked the door and they stumbled inside. He closed the door behind her and went down on one knee. He pushed her skirt up and she opened her legs wider. “That’s it, mama.” Pushing aside her soaked underwear, he flicked her swollen clit and plunged two fingers into her depths. Relentless, he pounded her core, bringing her to the edge and pushing her over. He lapped at her juices, sucking down as much as he could until she went boneless. Eager to be inside her, he moved his pants down and his cock stood out ramrod stiff. He handed her the condom. “Put your legs around me, mama. Guide me home.”

She lifted her legs, locking them low on his hips and reached between them, rolling the rubber over his erection, then led him to her slick entrance.

He drove home and they moved together frantically. Her muscles constricted around him and he gripped her hips hard. The thought of his mark on her body made his balls heavy. She twined her fingers through his hair and brought his lips to hers. As a rule he never kissed. He had no way of knowing where the biker bunny’s mouth had been and didn’t like the personal connection. With her, he couldn’t get enough. Her lips were like candied wine, sweet and addictive. I need to get this out of my system. The thought of being dependent on anything made him nervous. Addictive personalities ran in the family and the wrong woman could be the worst kind of poison if you let yourself get invested.

His firecracker flexed her muscles and dug her heels into his back while her body convulsed, pulling him into the abyss of ultimate pleasure.

Chapter Four

“You’re ridiculous, you know that?” Evonne said, laughing after Crazy finished retelling his exploit from the night before. Being Rocky’s shadow had thrown her into the deep end of M.C. life. It was jarring at first, but she’d learned to

take everything with a grain of salt. She needed to remember this was a whole new world. Great, I’m turning into the little mermaid. Her phone buzzed, so she picked it up and put it to her ear. “Hello?”

“I chose you. All those pretty friends and I chose you.”

The voice drained the joy from her life in an instant. Frozen, she continued to listen.

“So fastidious and careful. I wanted to see you break for me,” Levi whispered.

She gulped. “Never going to happen.” Her hand tightened around her phone.

“Hasn’t it? You’re not the same. I watched you bend, cave in and open up. You broke your own rules for me. It’s because you felt it too. We’re meant to be, Evonne,” Levi said.

“Fuck you.”

“Hand me the phone,” Rocky said, his tone murderous.

She glanced up at him and his fierce expression stole her breath, and she slowly handed her cell to him.

Like a warrior of old, he looked prepared to go into battle over her honor. His eyes were cold and his lips were peeled back into a wicked snarl. “Listen, you motherfucker, your days of playing games are over. Come anywhere near her, and I’ll take great pleasure in killing you with my bare hands.”

Her heart jumped in her throat. The very air she breathed seemed to suffocate her. Fear sprang up in her heart and her stomach soured. Will I have to live like this forever? One eye open at night, always looking over my shoulder? She stood from the barstool and stumbled toward the exit. She pushed the door open and sucked down the cool night air, trying to clear her mind. Levi’s voice brought it all home. The avoidance she’d managed so far went down the toilet. Her chest ached and tears blurred her vision. That monster had lain in her bed, wined and dined her while he presented the face of a cultured intelligence. He’d made her love him, or who she thought he was, and unlike a light switch, she couldn’t just turn that emotion off.

Bent over with her hands on her knees, she battled to keep her dinner in her belly.

“What are you doing coming out by yourself alone?” Rocky barked.

“I needed some air,” she said.

“Well, you’ve had it, now let’s go back inside.” He grabbed her arm.

She jerked away from his grip. “No, I need a minute.” She shook her head.

“What’s going on with you, Firecracker?” He furrowed his brow.

“That.” She pointed toward the door. “I loved that.”

His eyes grew wide. “No, you loved the image he sold you. There’s a big difference.”

“What the fuck is wrong with me?” Her voice broke.

“Nothing. Don’t let him fuck with your head like that. You’re better than this.”

“How do you know? This person you see isn’t me. It’s a mirage.” She laughed. “I thought I could fake it, and then he calls and I’m back where I started.”

“No.” Rocky gripped her arm and yanked her to him. “Snap the fuck out of it.”

“Stop.” She shoved at his chest, but he stood firm like a tree trunk with roots that ran deep.
