Say Yes, Senator
He pulled me against his chest and brought my head against his shoulder, resting his head on mine. We didn’t say anything, catching our breath in silence.
“Now, that was something else.” He was the first to break the silence, and I smiled into his shoulder. I moved my index finger over his upper arm, watching the goosebumps appear on his skin.
“I could say the same,” I muttered happily to him and leaned away to look at him. I was sure I had a dreamy gaze and that my lips were stretched in a silly smile. “You’re amazing, Merritt Dawson.”
His lips formed a matching smile, and his dimples made an appearance. That was so, so cute.
“Just like you, sweetheart.” He kissed my forehead and cupped my cheek. “Just like you.”

Merritt
A newfound sense of peace took over me, and I pulled Camilla closer to me. We were lying in her bed, our limbs entangled together.
Even now, I wanted to get back inside of her. I shook head at myself internally. What had she done to me?
My mind kept returning to the moment I saw her in that gorgeous dress. It was ironic. I wanted to fuck her in it and rip it off her at the same time. In the end, we came to her bedroom and continued playing with each other with no clothes preventing us full access. My lips had covered each inch of her skin, my hands memorizing the feel of her curves.
Before Camilla, I didn’t have a type of women I liked. Curvy, slim, tall, short, blonde, brunette… They were all the same to me. As long as she was pretty, that was all I needed to get it going. But now that I had met Camilla, I knew exactly what I liked. Her blue eyes and brown hair along with her sexy curves were the winning combination. She was perfect to me.
My fingers moved on their own, tracing her soft frame on their way to her breast. I covered her soft, round flesh, and she let out a low moan. Jesus, I loved when she did that. She was so responsive, always welcoming my touch.
I wanted her in my arms forever, no matter how cliché that sounded. With her, I didn’t care about being sappy. With her, all of that romantic shit I had never understood felt normal. It felt right.
“Can you do something for me?” I asked her.
“What?”
“Tell me how you feel about me. About us.”
She chuckled softly. “Why?”
“Because I need to know what we’re doing here, what I’m going to tell Carter.”
“Well, I like you.” My chest constricted at the words.
“Since when did you start liking me?” I asked her, tipping her chin up so that I could look at her beautiful face. Her eyes were brighter now, but just a couple of minutes ago they were stormy and dark, showcasing her lust.
Her nipple was hard underneath my fingers, and my mouth watered at the thought of licking it.
“I’m not sure,” she replied, creating some random patterns on my chest with her finger. “Probably when I was eleven and had braces and you saw right through me. But this time around? I have to admit that I was attracted to you from the first moment I saw you.”
I moved to look at her, taken aback by her admission. “You were?”
“Yeah.”
“You didn’t look that way.”
“Well, I was attracted physically to you, but I thought you were a jerk.”
“Ouch. This honesty is killing me.”
She giggled. “I wouldn’t want to boost your ego.” She winked. “So I didn’t want to get involved with you then. Only later, I realized there is something about you that makes me want to be with you. For good.”
“Is that why you have changed your mind? You realized you can’t stay away from me?”
“Maybe. Actually, I felt miserable. I was supposed to be in control of my life and live it the way I’ve always wanted it… But instead of being happy with the choice I made, I felt empty. Suddenly, my choice didn’t feel like mine anymore. I made it for my job, for Carter. But I needed to make it for me.”
