On My Way To You (Broken Love Duet 2)
I lick my lips, tasting the saltiness of my tears on them. If I close my eyes, I can see him standing at the stove smiling at me. I do that more than I should. I’ve gotten stronger in the last two years, but there’s no denying I’m still broken.
Hearing Reed on the radio is a sign.
I did the right thing.
It doesn’t make it easier, but it makes it better. Reed deserves everything good, not a broken woman who is afraid of her shadow most of the time.
“I love you, Reed.”
I smile, knowing he can’t hear me, but hoping somehow the words will be carried in the wind… just like the words of his song.
The End (for now)
