Ahhh, fuck. The sorry idiot just had to go and push the boundaries. He’s just fucking lucky my father is too busy trying to figure out how to deal with this mess before it can turn into a fucking bloodbath. After all, the moment news reaches Antonio’s father, he’ll be out for Ronaldo’s blood, and once Ronaldo is buried and gone, his father will be coming for Antonio’s. It’ll be like fucking magic to watch, one after the other, dropping like fucking flies until there’s no one left. My brothers and I won’t even have to lift a goddamn finger.

My father skims straight over Levi’s comment. “Where are you with these new manufacturers? You only have one day left. You better make it count.”

I roll my eyes and let out a sigh. “We found one of his dealers. He was a dead end. Wouldn’t give us a name so we put him down,” I say, thinking back on my old dealer, Julius, who learned the hard way what it means to steal from us. Though, it’s a shame because he was a good fucking dealer. Let’s just hope that his new replacement can pull the same kind of strings and more, but if he double-crosses me, he’ll suffer a much worse fate than his boss before him.

“Fuck,” my father mutters. “Twenty-four hours left, boy. Don’t mess it up.”

The line goes dead and I turn to Levi, a smirk cutting across my face. “You heard the man. We have twenty-four hours of uninterrupted freedom. We better make it count.”

His eyes darken just like mine, and for a brief moment, a flicker of guilt sails through my chest at the idea of leaving Marcus behind, but he’ll be more than alright with Shayne in his bed to keep him company. Though, she’s bound to be pissed when I don’t show up for tonight’s training session. She thinks she can handle it, but she’s not even remotely ready. By walking out now, I’m doing her a favor.

“Let’s fucking do it,” Levi says, and not a moment later, my tattoo gun is switched out for a real one and I’m out the fucking door, more than ready to remind this town who the fuck owns it.

SHAYNE

The big-ass wolf crushes me as he drops his heavy body over my lap and makes himself at home. His brother … or sister, jumps up on the couch beside me and drapes over me like a blanket, the two of them together almost suffocating me. “The fuck do you think you’re doing?” I demand, hating that I kinda like it when they show preference to me over their delusional, psychotic masters.

I wriggle a good portion of my body free and stare down at the big fuckers. “You guys just need someone to love you, don’t you?” I question, feeling my shitty mood slowly begin to fade away. I was supposed to start training with Roman last night, so it’s only natural for me to have wanted to strangle the bastard when I showed up for a session that he had absolutely no intention of turning up to. I fumed about it all night, well, until Marcus gave me something better to do. But damn, that asshole is going to get a brand new one the moment I see him.

They were out all night, and according to Marcus, they had some old friends who had forgotten just how thrilling it was to spend the night with them. Naturally, it was time for a reminder, and I couldn’t help the chill that swept down my spine. I’m all too acquainted with their friendly ways and I don’t wish it upon anyone. I haven’t seen them all morning, so I’m assuming they’re still out settling scores, but the moment they’re back, Roman is going to get one hell of an ass whooping and it’s going to be the best time of my life.

The wolves look up at me like some kind of alien mother trying to take them as my own, and as I relax back into the couch, content with being crushed under their massive size, my hand threads into their thick fur, scratching their heads. “So, like … are we friends yet?” I question, only to get a sharp glare from the one across my lap, silently telling me to shut the fuck up.

I roll my eyes and give him a nudge, only he doesn’t move an inch. “Listen up, you big murder puppy, if you’re going to use me as a human doggy bed, then the least you can do is not be a little shit about it,” I tell him just as a foul, tangy smell tears through the air. “Oh, hell no,” I shriek, holding back a gag as the murder puppy raises his head, looks me dead in the eye, and lolls his stupid tongue out, his eyes sparkling with laughter.
