“Fuck off.”

He tosses his hands up. “Hey, I’m just trying to help you. Some men would be thrilled to have that sexy, mostly salt-and-pepper thing you got going on at your age.”

“If you remind me of my age one more time, I’m going to bust you in the face, Blade,” I snap at him, and then remember where we are and lower my voice.

“What’s eating at you? You’ve never been this antsy, not even when we were in the thick of shit.” He may act concerned, but that damn smirk on his face belies his words, the little prick. Blade’s anything but little; still, he’s enjoying the torture too much.

“You know damn well what’s wrong,” I bark out, growling at the man who is taller and wider than me.

“That’s your fault. You’re the fucking coward who waited until now to come here. The wedding’s in ten minutes and you’re finally here.” I lose my cool and lunge forward.

“Whoa,” Boomer calls out, holding my arms. “Chill before you ruin Roxie’s wedding. You sure as hell should know better than to fuck up your sister’s big day, so quit fucking with Boss because he’s like a lovesick puppy.” Boomer finishes with a chuckle like an asshole.

“You too?” I ask, galled that even he’s busting my chops. They’re right. I finally get to see Esperanza, and I’m going to finish what we started back in Steeleville.

“Hey, he’s just mad because she thinks I’m sexy and she likes my weapon.” I pull out of Boomer’s grasp, but I’m not sure he was holding me much longer.

“You prick.”

“Would everyone please take your seats?” the wedding planner says, addressing the room.

“You’re lucky. I’m going to strangle you.”

“What is wrong with you?” Boomer’s asking and laughing at the same time.

“Wrong with me? He’s the asshole hitting on my woman?”

“Damn it, Blade.” I don’t hear what he says to Boomer because that’s when Esperanza walks out to take her seat on the groom’s side, which is full. I snarl and growl when she’s escorted to her seat by a handsome bastard. I’ve seen him before, but I don’t know who he is exactly. I believe he works for the hotel. He then goes up to the altar and stands beside Emiliano and then I know who he is: the best man and Emiliano’s business partner, Gavin.

Still, I return my attention to the most important creature in the room, the woman who has been on my mind since she stepped into my bar on the arm of another man. Her eyes meet mine, and a blush spreads over her face. It’s as if she knows her fate is sealed the second the service is over.

I’m going to carry her over my shoulder and out of here, fucking her on the nearest surface. We more than likely can’t have kids, so we can have a lot of fun going balls deep, bare as fuck, and the thought plays in my head like a movie in 4K. I can picture my thick, long cock that has been giving my hand a good workout this week sliding in and out of her snatch and disappearing with every stroke.

The ceremony takes place rather slowly, but I couldn’t tell you anything that happened during it if it didn’t have anything to do with my obsession. My eyes were glued to Esperanza and the way several stray curls fell down Esperanza’s neck just kissing her shoulder, bouncing and swaying as she watched, cried, and smiled at her son vowing to love Roxie for the rest of their days. I plan to make those same vows as soon as I can with her if she’ll give me the chance.

Time inches by as I wait for my moment to strike. I know I’ll probably have to wait to get her completely alone, but I need to speak with her, touch her, taste her lips for the first time. It pisses me off because I should have done that days ago, but she fled before I got the chance.

The ceremony comes to an end with a kiss from the happy couple and then they pass us by. We get up to move, but Blade gets in my way to her. I’m about to trample him, but then Roxie’s mother is talking to Emiliano’s mother. Blade joins them with a smile, tossing me a wink like he’s ready to die today.

We get to the reception area when Blade says, “What’s wrong, Boss? You look like someone stole your girl.” He throws his arm around Esperanza, and that’s it. I’m about to clobber him, but she pulls away from him and I grab her instead, flipping her over my shoulder. “We need to talk.”

“I don’t think this is how it works,” she says with a giggle.

“Actually, coming from these men… it is,” Morgan says. Several of the women confirm the truth as well. I nod and carry her out of the room and straight to the elevators. I don’t give two fucks about anything else but her and me. We need to talk. It’s been nearly a week since we’ve seen each other.
