A Billion to One (Power Surge: The Billionaire Club 2)
“Wow, those two have such the way with the ladies, huh, Chiara?”
She shot Heather a look.
“Oh shit, you like them. Yeah! Oh my God, this is great.”
“Please, Heather. This is not great. They are so wrong for me. I can’t do anything with them. I can’t let my guard down. I can’t trust like that. As a matter of fact,” Chiara said then turned toward Heather, “I wanted to talk to you about something.”
“What, honey? Anything,” Heather said. Heather was such a good friend. Her glossy lips and perfectly done makeup just added to her beauty. She was a good person through and through.
“I was thinking about what you said. Your offer to hook me up with one of those no-strings-attached sex fests—”
Heather’s eyes widened as the sound of a throat clearing drew their attention.
Chiara turned around and looked up to see Cash and Zane standing there.
Her face filled with heat and she couldn’t even speak. God, I hope they didn’t hear me.
“Hello, Cash and Zane. So nice to see you again,” Heather said then shook their hands hello.
“Yes, glad you two could make it. Have you seen all the art displays and the gifts being raffled off?” Chiara asked, finding her shaky but functional voice.
Cash stared down into her eyes, then offered his arm. “No, we haven’t. Perhaps you would like to show us around?”
“She sure would. I have to go use the ladies’ room. I’ll see you in a bit. Good luck,” Heather said.
Chiara gave her friend a mean look. How could she leave her at a time like this?
Cash went from holding her arms and escorting her around the artwork, with Zane, to holding her around her waist. His grip was firm and his hand huge against her hip. She’d never had a man hold her like this, and in such a simple way. She felt overly in tune to Cash and Zane’s presence.
“You helped to organize all of this?” Zane asked her.
“Yes. I love volunteering.”
“We do some volunteering of our own, too. We especially like being part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.”
“Oh, that’s wonderful,” she replied, glancing at Zane, yet feeling just as attracted to him as to Cash, who presently held her against his side.
She shyly looked down, wondering what people might think, seeing her walking around with these two. When she looked up, she saw Jett and Flynn Greyson. Both men glanced at Cash and Zane and then to her. Flynn smiled.
“Chiara, you look stunning as always,” he said, then reached for her hand. He pulled her to him and he kissed her gently on the cheek.
“Thank you. It’s so nice of you both to make it,” she replied, as Flynn released her to Jett, who placed his hand on her hip and looked toward Cash and Zane with a serious expression, and then back at her. She didn’t know what was going on. Her body felt so sensitive.
As Jett released her, Cash and Zane shook their hands, and then Zane pulled her by his side again.
“You’ve done a wonderful job, as always, Chiara.”
“Thank you, Jett. You four know one another?” she asked Jett, and he nodded his head.
“Although sometimes we hate to admit it, Cash and Zane are very close friends of ours,” Flynn said and then winked before looking Chiara over. Zane’s hand tightened on her waist, and she could have sworn he pulled her closer. Then she felt Cash’s hand on her shoulder. He gently moved a stray piece of hair from her cheek, letting his thumb caress across her skin. He smiled at her. His dark brown eyes were beautiful.
“We’ve all known one another for years. There are ten of us that meet for game night at Phantoms.”
“Oh, that is a great place. I haven’t been in there for a while.” She somehow responded, even though she was completely turned on by Cash’s touch and Zane’s obvious possessiveness.
“Well, be sure to stop in. We’ll buy you a drink,” Flynn stated and then winked.
“Sounds good,” she whispered back, and both Jett and Flynn smiled. Then Flynn saw someone they knew and gave Jett a little nudge.
