Mastering the Art of Love (The American Soldier Collection 2)
“I’m so glad that Jax and Jameson met you, fell in love, and knocked you up. Or I wouldn’t have anyone to complain to, to boast to about my men, or enjoy being pregnant with.”
Mariana felt the tears reach her eyes as she chuckled.
She ran her hand over her belly and looked at Jax and Jameson smiling and enjoying the time with family.
“Yeah, I guess I made out pretty good, getting ‘knocked up’ by two very sexy, extremely bossy but good-looking American soldiers, like Jax and Jameson.”
Gia laughed. “Tell me about it,” she said then picked up an empty plate.
Mariana couldn’t help but thank the good Lord above for watching over her and leading her to Jax and Jameson. She was down and just trying to survive in hopes to achieve what were once impossible goals. She had learned that nothing was impossible with the love and support of her two men and of course of her newfound family.
To think that Jax and Jameson were once strangers, men of wealth whom she served hors d’oeuvres to and thought immediately how handsome they were. To then have them as lovers because their attraction was so strong that not even economic barriers or stigmas of rich and poor stood in the way. They simply saw her for whom she was, a young woman trying to make a better life for herself, one day at a time, one paycheck at a time while working two jobs and going to school.
Their instant attraction, love at first sight, brought them together, and now, because of that love a new family was growing and Mariana no longer saw life as a struggle to remain alive, but as a gift to make a difference in the world and to raise a family with the love, commitment, and encouragement she never had.
She looked at Jax and Jameson and their happy expressions. There was so much she wanted to tell them and to share with them as to how much they touched her and how important they were to her life. The words came in an instant today, in her mind and where her soul whispered what she couldn’t say aloud.
I used to dream of love. I wanted to find it, but not waste time searching for it, when I was so determined to succeed in life. With my back against the obvious, it struck me like a bolt of lightning. There they were, two handsome men, standing in an art gallery, looking bored and unemotional. Then our eyes met. Double time, and I knew that something changed in me. Jax and Jameson Spaulding. You will always be my destiny, my lovers, my heroes, and my everything.
