Just Me (You & Me 1)
“Do you like to cook?” he asked her.
“Oh, I love to, but it’s been a while since I cooked much of anything. I’ve been on the move a lot lately, so I just grab something while I’m out.”
Ben nodded, listening along, but in the back of his mind, he wondered if she would ever cook for him. It was weird things like that, he found himself fantasizing over. Things many people took for granted, but as a man of resources, a home cooked meal seemed easier to come by than it was. His hiring a chef was only when he got tired of eating out so often, but when he did hire one, it wasn’t the same as having someone who loved you cook your meals.
“Down here is the library,” he announced, leading her down a narrow hall with two rooms. On one side, there was a heavy wooden door that led to a room lined with bookshelves, with a pool table sitting in the center of the room.
“This is an interesting room,” she noted, slowly making her way around the room, glancing at the titles of books.
“Are you a big reader?” he asked.
“Yeah, but mostly fiction. I love a good romance novel,” Kathrine admitted with a bashful smile.
“Afraid I don’t have much of that. I focus more on the business side of things,” he shrugged, glancing over at the section labeled ‘digital marketing’. Ben was a student of his craft, and had always been dedicated to learning about any business he was in.
When he jumped into the world of electronic commerce, he didn’t know more than the average shopper, but he wanted that to change. First, he switched majors, and then he took on another degree altogether after graduation. The industry was forever changing, and he wanted to stay ahead of the curve by learning trends in real time.
What others found tedious, Ben loved about his job. It kept him young, having to shift with changes and reinvent his brand to stay competitive. In a way, his library was the reason for the rest of his house. What he had learned had catapulted him into a stratosphere of success he hadn’t known existed.
Katherine’s strolling through the room, paying attention to the books he valued so much meant a lot to him. She barely paid any attention to the pool table, which would usually draw all the attention. She wanted to know what intrigued him, and he made a mental note of how cool that was.
“Thanks for showing me this,” she said quietly, when she had finally finished scrolling through the titles.
“Of course,” Ben said lowly before taking her on to the next room.
They went through his office and the two spare bedrooms he kept ready for guests at any moment. Katherine looked over every room with a curious look on her face, and Ben struggled to read her thoughts to no avail.
“And this is the movie theatre,” Ben said, as he opened the last door at the end of the hallway.
The dark room had been filled with reclining leather chairs that resembled a movie theatre. With elevated floors, the room was made to look as if it had three rows with three seats each, making a small intimate movie theatre for nine.
“This is my favorite room!” Katherine said, completely shocked. Ben turned to see the excitement on her face and beamed with pride.
“Do you like going to the movies?” he asked.
“Do I? It’s my favorite thing to do! We have to watch a movie here one day!” She demanded and Ben happily agreed.
“I think you’ve seen everything now,” Ben noted, as they walked back through the house, his pace slower now that he was unsure of where to take her next.
“Now, I want to show you something,” Katherine suggested, moving in front of him as she pranced across the marble floor with bare feet.
Ben found it impossible to take his eyes off of her as she made her way to what looked like his bedroom. She was moving much faster than him, at least three paces in front of his every step.
“Just what do you want to show me?? Ben asked, rounding the corner of his bedroom.
His mouth dropped to the floor when he saw what waited for him. Dropping the black t-shirt to the floor, Katherine stood in just her bra and panties, a sight for sore eyes. Unable to speak, Ben let his feet speak for him, carrying himself across the room where he spoke with his lips, searching for Katherine’s with an urgent lust.
Chapter Twenty-Three
Katherine
IN WHAT HAD BEEN THE boldest, and most vulnerable move of her life, Katherine stood before Ben, offering herself as she never had before. She was certain that she wanted to move forward with him, tired of playing games and delaying the pleasure she so desperately wanted.
When his eyes fell on her, she knew she had not over-estimated his desire, and she waited on tempered passion as he stormed across the room, taking her mouth with his own.
Ben was unforgiving in his kiss, roughly controlling Katherine’s as he walked forward, forcing her to follow his lead until the back of her legs bumped into his bed. Slowly, Ben laid her onto the bed with a gentle guidance until her head rested against the plush comforter.
His entire bedroom was barely decorated with dark contrasts of color creating a dark and intimate vibe. Ben’s bedroom felt like a private haven, and she knew it was reserved for him as an exclusive room in his house. She did not take it lightly that he had invited her into his space.
