“That sounds like a plan,” Dylan said eagerly. He glanced at Kendra. “You up for it?”

“Oh, yeah,” Kendra enthused. “I went to this really cool fire play event once, though just as a spectator. It looked incredibly intense. I’ve always wanted to try it.”

“Master Caelan and I went to the fire master class they held a while back here on the island. It was just before Dylan joined the staff. The fire licks your skin, heating it without burning. It’s such a rush,” Skylar enthused. “I can’t wait to try it again.”

Kendra glanced to Dylan, who eagerly nodded his affirmation. “Sweet. I’ve had some experience with fire play, too. Let’s do it.”

Desire Island’s carpentry crew had just completed the renovations on the two-bedroom cottage, a private dwelling on the other side of the island. It included a stocked kitchen, along with a fully equipped dungeon and outside BDSM play area. Starting next season, it would be available to VIP guests as an exclusive upgrade. Meanwhile, staff was encouraged to reserve the space and use the BDSM facilities so any possible issues with the setup could be addressed before it was opened for guests.

The night air was cool and pleasant as they climbed into the four-person golf cart. Master Caelan drove, Skylar beside him, Dylan and Kendra in the back. It was like a scene from a movie, with a million sparkling stars studding the velvety black night sky, the ever-present sound of the waves hitting the shore providing the soundtrack.

The paved path gave way after a while to crushed seashells and gravel as they made their way. Before long, they pulled up to a stone cottage with an attached deck. The cottage was set back from the shore and surrounded by jasmine bushes, their sweet scent mingling with the salt in the moist air.

Caelan parked the cart and they climbed out. “Wow, this is some place,” Kendra said admiringly as they entered the cottage. “They really fixed it up nicely.”

The living area had been converted into a fully equipped BDSM dungeon, with plenty of restraint devices and toys set up conveniently around the room. “But the really cool setup is outside,” Caelan added. “I was over here earlier this evening and I got everything ready for fire play. Come see.”

They went out to the deck. Portable whipping posts had been positioned on either side of a fire pit. There were low, cushioned benches set up around the pit.

Two Kevlar whips and two fire wands waited on a table nearby, along with a large wide-mouthed container of 70% isopropyl alcohol and a couple of thin blankets. There was also a CO2 fire extinguisher for emergencies.

“Obviously, it’s dangerous to play with fire, no matter how experienced you are,” Caelan said. “We might eventually try single tails, but for tonight, I was thinking we’d stick with wands and floggers.”

As the others nodded their agreement, Dylan added, “Safewords. I know the island safeword is red light, and you can always use that,” he said to Skylar. “Kendra also has a personal safeword.” He glanced to her with a sardonic smile. “Kendra?”

“Bukkake,” Kendra offered with a grin.

Skylar laughed. “Seriously?”

“It’s not what you think,” Kendra hastened to add, laughing too. “Or, it could be, I guess. Kitchen staff is a foul-mouthed bunch. At my first job, the dessert chef used it when he wanted me to squirt some whipped cream on something. I thought it was hilarious.”

“My safeword is a little more mundane,” Skylar said, still smiling. “Apple. The forbidden fruit.”

“Perfect,” Dylan said. “Not that we expect you to need them, but it’s good to be prepared.”

“Boy Scouts that we are,” Caelan added with a grin. “Why don’t you two girls go inside and strip while we get things going out here? Oh, and bring a bowl of ice and some wet dishtowels from the kitchen when you come out.”

The girls went back inside the cottage to remove their clothing. As Skylar pinned up her braid, she said, “Once a couple of years ago, I was watching a fire play scene, and the guy accidentally set the girl’s hair on fire.”

“Yikes,” Kendra said, reflexively bringing her hand to her head.

“Yeah. It was a scene-stopper, for sure. You should be fine, though.”

Kendra ran her finger through her short locks, grinning. “Yep. I keep my hair short because it’s easy. Works well for me in the kitchens, too. No accidentally dipping my hair in the sauce or getting it caught in the pasta machine.”

“Well, it suits you,” Skylar said. “Sassy, just like you.”

Kendra grinned. “Yeah? Dylan calls it smart ass.”

Skylar chuckled. “It’s so great how you and Dylan have connected,” she said as they headed to the small kitchen to get the ice and wet towels. “Do you think you’ll take it to the next level?” She fingered the gold heart that hung from the O-ring on her slave collar.
