Defined By Deceit
Llew barked a startled laugh at Shane’s text, making the instructor and a few of the guys turn to look at him.
“No cell phones during the test,” the man said, annoyed; dropping a test sheet in front of Llew.
He ran his hand through his hair, hiding his smile. He was going to get Shane when he got out of there. Llew skimmed over each question, rapidly circling each correct answer before standing and taking the paper up to the instructor. He was so ready to go. The man looked up at him, confused. Only three minutes had gone by. “If you don’t take the test, I can’t certify you.”
“I did take it.”
The man picked up the paper, going over Llew’s answers. He guessed the guy saw that every one of them was correct, because he stamped the paper and put it in a folder on his desk. “Um. Your boss will receive the certifications; you can get it at his office.” Llew smiled broadly, thinking that’s not all he was going to get in Shane’s office.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
They were back in Llew’s hotel room and Llew had Shane up against the wall ravaging his mouth. “You got me in trouble in school.” Llew laughed, biting hard on Shane’s neck and making his man laugh loudly as he struggled to get out of his hold.
“I didn’t tell you to burst out laughing. I was just letting you know that you were sitting there smiling like a loon.” Shane ran his tongue along Llew’s beard, smiling cheekily. He sang his question teasingly, “What were you thinking about, Llewell?”
“I can show you better than I can tell you.” Llew grabbed Shane’s cock inside his jeans, groping it roughly.
“Fuck me,” Shane murmured.
“I will.”
Llew yanked at Shane’s pants button, but his hands were grabbed in a tight, two-handed grip. “Babe. As much as I want that right now, we got forty minutes until your brother is supposed to get to your place and we got an hour drive ahead of us.”
Llew towered over Shane, his bulk roughly forcing him back against the hard surface behind him. He gripped Shane’s chin, turning it and jerking his head up so he could nip at Shane’s ear. His lips aggressively brushed over his flushed skin while he snarled his words against the side of Shane’s face. “You’re lucky, Shane. I was getting ready to show you what I do to my man when he misbehaves.”
“Oh god.” Shane squeezed between his legs; his face flushed a deep shade of rose. Someone liked the sound of that very much.
Llew stepped back and popped Shane once sharply on his ass. “Go get your stuff, let’s go.”
“Okay.” Shane bolted out the door to his own room; which had only been used to house his duffle bag, and was back in less than ten minutes.
Fuckin’ perfect.
Chapter Twenty-Eight
“You sure finished the test quick,” Shane said, merging onto the ramp to take them towards Henderson.
“I remember just about everything I read, and I’ve read OSHA regulations a million times,” Llew responded casually. Shane loved how comfortable he looked in his big F-350. In a jet-black t-shirt and well-worn jeans, he looked good enough to pull over and fuck for a while. Damn having a time schedule.
“Um. Did ya’ll have a big library in… in prison.” Shane chanced a quick glance at Llew to see his reaction. He didn’t appear to cringe at the mention of it.
He smiled to show Shane it was no longer painful to talk about. “No. The library was shitty as hell.”
“Well how’d you have access to so much and blueprints?”
“Ace.”
“What?”
“Ace. I joined his gang a few months into my sentence.”
“You were in a gang?” Shane tried not to sound judgmental, but it was disappointing to hear. Did he want a gang member on his crew and in his bed? Did Llew hurt people?
“It wasn’t that type of gang. Like East Coast, West Coast shit.” Llew laughed. “Actually, Ace had a crew more so than a gang.”
“Okay.” Shane didn’t know if Llew wanted him to know these things or not but if they were going to be together didn’t they need to understand each other. “I understand if it’s too painful to talk about.”
Llew rubbed Shane’s thigh soothingly, turning from his view of the outside world to look at him. “I just don’t know how much you want to hear.”
“Whatever you’re comfortable with, but I promise you won’t scare me away. Unless… well.”
Llew continued to rub his leg, grinning at him. He loved that Llew’s playfulness was starting to come out more and more around him now. “Unless what? Unless I tell you Ace was my boyfriend?”
“Was he?” Shane held his breath.
“Of course not. I was totally celibate in prison. I didn’t even jerk off.”
“I’m sorry.”
Llew caressed the side of Shane’s face. “Don’t be sorry.” Llew dropped his hands back to his lap, blowing out a long breath, as if girding himself for the conversation. “In the beginning, it was rough; to say the least. Un-fuckin’-bearable, to be honest. Everyone wanted to kill the so-called child rapist.”
