Something About a Hot Guy

He slumped down on me, pressed is nose into my hair, his breaths choppy and rough as he struggled to come down. I could feel him grinning at the side of my face. “That’s right you are. I’m gonna keep you, Kenna Cupcake.”

It was a sweet, sweet tease.

Love blossomed all over my body. So huge I was sure it had become its own entity.

“I like the sound of that.”

The front door banged open. My eyes went wide with fear, and Kyle was whirling around, putting is whole body in between me and whoever had come inside.

“Hello? Kenna? Why the hell is there a suitcase out in the hall and the door’s unlocked?”

Vanessa.

She wasn’t supposed to be back for two days.

Was it bad I wished we were getting broken into instead? Because this was . . . mortifying.

“What are we supposed to tell her?” I mouthed in horror.

Kyle grinned. “We tell her what I should have told her a long time ago.”

He hopped off the bed, shucked the condom, tossed it into the garbage, and tugged on his pants. He was already staggering out my bedroom door before I could stop him.

“Kyle . . . what the hell?” Vanessa screeched, her voice coming clearer now that my door was wide open.

“Hello, little sister.”

“What’s going on?” I couldn’t see her, but I was pretty sure she was planting her hands on her hips, suspicion filling her tone.

Kyle peeked back at me from where he was in the hall, sending me a slow smile before he was turning back to her. “What do you think of officially welcoming Kenna into the family. She’s pretty much been her whole life, anyway. Sound like a good plan, Kenna Cupcake?” he asked, swinging his attention back to me, smirking with all that easy confidence that he wore like a brand.

Then his smirk softened into something real, exposing the sincerity in the question.

Oh my God.

Kyle Love was gonna marry me.

It was true what they said. There was just something about a hot a guy. Something that made you itchy and anxious. Smitten.

Only this one was mine.

And I wasn’t ever going to let him go.
