Coop (Reckless Souls MC 1)

“Kelsey,” I growl.

“Coop,” she practically moans, her bottom lip gently brushing against my own. “We shouldn’t.”

“We shouldn’t,” I agree and press my body against hers, a whisper of a kiss on her lips before the bathroom door smacks open. I look up.

“Shades!”

Shades is the MC treasurer, and the most notable thing about him is his borderline obsession with sunglasses. He owns hundreds of them, and today’s pair is silver and orange, hiding his eyes while flashing a knowing smile.

“We need to talk.” He says nothing else and just walks out, leaving me to finish with Kelsey.

Kelsey pulls away from me and smooths her hair back into a ponytail. “You should probably go see what your boss wants.”

I smile. “He’s a friend. Some might call him a coworker. Not my boss,” I grunt.

Kelsey laughs. “Whatever. He obviously needs to talk to you.”

She’s not wrong, so I nod and leave her to clean up the cotton balls and other debris from bandaging my wounds.

I catch up to him in the shop. “What up, man?”

His smile quirks up again, his brown, shaggy hair brushing his shoulders as he shrugs and nods towards the bathroom. “We fuckin’ customers in the bathroom now?”

“No,” I protest and give him a quick rundown of last night’s run-in with the Iron Kings. “Her coming here this morning is just a coincidence.”

“Is it?” Kelsey’s melodic voice sounds behind me. “I thought I showed up to put a ring on your finger.” The amusement in her voice makes Shades laugh. “I’ll just wait outside so you guys can chat.”

Shades snorts. “Men don’t chat. We talk.”

“Have a nice chat,” she says in a sing-song voice and pushes out into the early morning sunshine.

“Not your usual type.”

I shrug. “Like I said, last night was last night, and this morning is just a coincidence.”

“Lucky told me about what happened last night. You good?”

“I’m fine. Nogales was up to his same old tricks.”

Shades nods and pushes the ugly glasses on top of his head.

“Lucky said you might have some concerns about how shit went down last night?”

“Nah.” I appreciate that Lucky didn’t try to hide what he’d done and appreciated even more that he knew I was worried for a minute.

“One of the prospects made a stupid cock-sucker comment, and Lucky went off, pissed all over them.”

Shades’ mouth pulled into a wide smile. “No shit?”

“No shit. His brother has a husband. Nogales was whining about getting his dick sucked. Lucky didn’t like it at all.”

“The war hero brother?”

I nod. “Yup. Luck didn’t take it too well, plus, you know how protective he is of the store, the shop, and they fucked it up.”

Lucky works at Ace Motors most days. Cars and bikes are his passion, fixing them, improving them, all of it.

“This is his home, and they violated that. I’m good with what he did.”

Shades laughed. “I would have loved to see the looks on those assholes’ faces when he started pissing all over them.”

“It was a sight to see. He was here yesterday, cleaning up the mess, but those bikes over there are fucked up. Insurance is gonna be pissed.”

“Yup. I’ll talk to Ace about it. He’s still not here yet. Probably smackin’ some ass from last night.”

“That’s all you stopped by for at the ass crack of dawn?”

Shades shrugs. “Wanted to see if you wanted to go to Golden Bust with me. They have a huge breakfast buffet, and my favorite girl is working.”

He wiggles his brows suggestively, initiating a bark of laughter from me.

“I’m not eating breakfast at a titty bar just so you can flirt with a girl, Shades.”

I’ve eaten at some shit places in my life, especially as a nomad, but I draw the line at eating inside a strip club.

“You’d be singing a different tune if not for that hot blonde outside.”

“A paying customer, you mean. Name’s Kelsey.”

“Right. That.” Shades shook his head and pounded a fist on the counter. “See you later, Coop.”

With Shades gone, there’s no barrier, no chaperone for Kelsey and me. Which means I have to rely on the strength of my willpower to keep my hands off her.

Fat fucking chance.

Chapter Nine

Kelsey

Sucking in as much fresh air as possible, I let each breath out slowly, grateful to the man Coop called Shades for interrupting what would have been a colossal mistake.

No matter how much I want to kiss Coop again, and I do want to put our lips together, our naked bodies, and make sweet fucking music together, I can’t let it happen again.

Getting to know Coop for a night, flirting and laughing and fucking, was a good time, but that’s all it can be. A good time. I like Coop more than I should. He’s the exact kind of man that I could get used to having in my life.

He’s gorgeous and built, just bad enough to make my lady parts tingle, and despite being a bad boy, he has a protective streak that makes me feel special. But Daddy would never allow me to get too close to him.
