“Yes,” she whimpered. “I don’t ever want to sleep anywhere without you again.”

“I’ll make it up to you, sweetie,” I murmured, nuzzling just under her ear. “I’ll take you over and over tonight.”

“Yeah...” she moaned, kissing me with that quivering, scorching heat that told me that she

was right on the edge.

“Squeeze me tight, baby,” I growled, “Take what you need.”

Joanna shrieked as I drove roughly into her snug, wet tunnel, clenching around me as she

came hard. I followed ten seconds behind, working deep as I exploded inside her while her

cries urged me on.

Her hands fisted the back of my shirt as we held each other. Then she smiled at me. “Wow.

We’ve never done it sitting like this.”

I laughed, helping her up. “Since we’ll be practicing even harder over the next few months,

“I’ll have dinner ready, but I’m buying one of Miriam’s pies for dessert.”

“She’s making you pay?” I raised an eyebrow, grinning while I muttered, “Greedy farm

owners.”

Joanna laughed, swatting my shoulder. “I’m going to insist. I sold another article to that

gardening magazine.”

Kissing her gently, I swept her up in my arms, spinning her around the barn. “My gorgeous,

talented wife.”

“My brilliant, strong husband,” she giggled as I set her down, kissing her softly.

Taking her hand, I ran my thumb around her wedding ring. Then I brought our hands to her

stomach. “Soon.”

She nodded up at me with those dreamy eyes that always made me melt. “No rush. Mellow

country time, right?”

“Yes, sweetie. Slow and steady out here.” As we held each other, I realized that Joanna

really was a mellow girl all along. It didn’t matter where she was, she would always find a

way to be happy, and be herself. We hadn’t changed each other, only improved each other.

Yet in a way, we were still just beginning.
