B-Roll to B-Sides (PR Girls & Instalove 2)
“Undignified,” Marian announced.
We turned and stared at our daughter. Her auburn pigtails bobbed as she shook her head at us, looking disgusted.
“Where did you hear that word?” Brynn asked.
“Auntie Corina told me.”
“Your friends are interesting influences,” I said, smiling as we arranged the rest of the food on the table.
“Am I an interesting fluence?” Adrian asked.
“Yes,” I said as we sat on either side of our oddly precocious children. “You both are. Now, what were you two working on today?”
As our kitchen filled with laughter and incredibly detailed stories of makeshift lighting rigs and angles, I stared at the three of them. My heart nearly burst from being surrounded by so much creativity and love.
“We may have created video monsters,” I said.
“I’m actually impressed that they can plan out a video project, yet they can’t clean their rooms,” Brynn laughed.
“Maybe they can take over our jobs as soon as they hit nineteen, and we can retire,” I smiled.
I reached my hand across the table to hold my wife’s, and she flashed me that heartwarming grin that I couldn’t get enough of.
I was the first man she’d ever held hands with. The first man who’d made her pulse race. She’d given me two beautiful children who were going to take on the art world as soon as they were allowed online.
“I love you,” she mouthed, blowing me a kiss.
“I love you,” I mouthed back, dropping my eyes to her cleavage, then raising an eyebrow.
My look told her that the second our children were safely asleep, I would be showing her my love in a very undignified way.
