Chapter Eleven

Sienna stretched when she came awake the next morning, cringing a bit at the strain from the night before on muscles she hadn’t known she had.

“Hey, sleepyhead.”

She turned and smiled at Kane.

“How about some coffee?”

She sat up, nodded, held the sheet over her breasts, and took the cup he held out to her. She took a few sips and then handed it back. “Thank you.”

“First off, you are never to cover yourself in front of me.”

“But…”

“No, baby. Non-negotiable,” he told her as he pulled the sheet down.

She could feel the heat of a blush cover her face but tried to act cool.

“Now, I have a surprise for you,” he said.

“Really?” she asked, surprised.

“You, Nia, and Riley are going shopping today. You’ll have the driver and two bodyguards with you…”

“Is that necessary? There is no evidence that says Hector knows where I’m at or if he is coming for me.”

“I’m not taking a chance, baby.”

“What am I supposed to get?”

“Anything you want. You need accessories for your doll. I have it on good authority that Riley knows where to get them.”

Sienna snorted out a laugh. “I just bet she does. How long will I be gone?”

“A few hours.”

She bit down on her lip.

He cuddled her to his chest. “What’s got you worried?”

“It’s silly.”

“Tell me.”

“I don’t want to spend your money on ridiculous things.”

He nuzzled the side of her head and smiled. “If it makes you happy, it’s not silly.”

“I’ll bet you’re not working hard so you can buy doll clothes.”

“Let me put it this way. I’m working hard in the hopes that I’ll be able to buy the girls in my life that I care about anything that makes them smile.”

She looked up at him and narrowed her eyes. “And how many girls do you have?”

He grunted. “I only have my one feisty little, but someday I hope to have daughters.”

When she felt tears sting her eyes, she ducked her head and hugged him tightly. “I’ve always dreamed of a large family. Since it was only me growing up. It got lonely.”

“I’m an only child, too, and have thought about having several kids. You and I are the same. We don’t have any other family.”

“I try not to think about it.”

He tipped her head up with the side of his hand. “Think about the fact we have each other, so we’re no longer alone.”
