Room 452

I open my eyes wide as realization that I am going to be stuck here all alone with Sawyer for two whole days comes over me. “No.” I say in disbelief. “No, this can’t be happening.”

Sawyer grins back at me. “Don’t worry. I’m sure we can find things to do to pass the time.” He looks me up and down.

I quickly grab my phone and look up the airport’s number. Ten minutes later I’m hanging up with the same answer that Sawyer gave me. I set my phone down on the counter, and he gives me a I-told-you-so look.

“Shut up.” I grumble even though he didn’t say anything.

He reaches up and stretches his arms over his head. The movement pulls his shirt up, exposing his abs. I try not to stare, but well, you know. He steps forward and leans on the counter. “You’re just upset because you know by the end of this weekend you’re going to end up in my bed.”

I laugh. “Is that really what you think is going to happen here?”

He steps around the counter and approaches me. I take a step back, but he closes the distance until my back hits the counter. He smirks down at me. “Yes, I think you’re dying for a taste.” His breath is hot on my ear as he leans closer. “Dying to give in to what you really want.”

I gently push his chest back. I stare up into his eyes. “I’m a big girl. If I want something, I don’t deny myself.”

“You really believe that?” His tongue slips out over his bottom lip.

I narrow my eyes. “How can one person be this cocky?”

He doesn’t miss a beat. “Because I have a great cocky.”

I slap my hand to my face. “No! You did not just say that.” I can’t hold back my laugh.

He steps back and grabs his drink from off the counter and smirks at me as he takes a sip. “Adding act like a geek to my list of ways to get you into bed.” He mentally checks off.

I roll my eyes and pour myself another drink, but I still have a stupid smile on my face. “Has that method ever worked for you?”

His smile grows. “Oh yes, it’s one of my best. The girls eat that shit up. Like they really think I go around looking like this without getting any.”

I push past him to the living room. “Ugh. You’re disgusting.”

He follows behind me. “What? It’s not like they ask. They assume what they want so that I fit their ideal image. Not my fault they don’t want to get to know the real me.” He says sarcastically.

I laugh. “The only thing you’d be able to fuck is your hand if they got to know the real you.”

He laughs behind me. “I don’t know about that. You know the real me, and we are definitely going to fuck.”

I roll my eyes as I crash onto the big comfy couch. I chug my drink back and make a dramatic satisfied sound. “Sorry hun. I’m already too drunk.”

He glances at my empty cup. “So what you’re telling me is that the threshold for you to sleep with me is only two drinks? Wow, this is going to be easier than I thought.”

I reach forward and hand him my glass. “I need a third just to tolerate being in the same room as you.”

He doesn’t even think twice as he grabs my cup and refills his own in the kitchen. I turn on the couch and lean on the back of it. “What’s the real reason behind this whole game of yours? Are you trying to push my dad over the edge or something by saying you nailed his daughter? Don’t you think you’ve done enough?”

He walks back with the drinks in his hand, and I don’t know why my eyes can’t look away from his hips. Fucking hell. How does him just walking look so good?

“You know that none of this was actually about your dad. Contrary to your little fucked up idea that I tried destroying your family, I was only doing what was best for me.” He says as he sits down next to me.

I grab the drink from his hand. “Spoken like a true selfish bastard.” I cheers him and take a sip.

He leans back on the couch with his arm resting across the back. “You only have one person to look out for you in this life Blake, and that’s yourself.”

I raise an eyebrow at him. “Wow, what a sad existence you have.” I pause then though. It’s not like I know most of the employees’ families or anything, but I’ve never actually heard Sawyer talk about anyone important in his life.

I fold my legs up under myself on the couch. “So if there’s not a bigger picture here, then why are you still playing this little game?”

He shifts his body so that he is facing me, and his fingers brush over my shoulder on the back of the couch. “Because you’re hot and I want to fuck you.”
