Why Did It Have To Be You?

I raise my eyebrows at him and place my hand over my heart in mock surprise. “My my, are you asking me to go to the back of this bar with you?”

Dean scans his eyes over my body and bites his bottom lip between his teeth. “Definitely.”

I get up and grab Dean’s hand, practically dragging him to the back. When he goes to unlock the back office door, I push him against the door and press my mouth to his. I use his tie to pull him closer to me. Dean groans and then turns me around so my back is to the door. He kisses along my neck and shoulder as he uses the keys to unlock the door.

We fall into the little office and everything looks pretty much the same. My eyes look to the pinball machine, and I walk over to it and look over my shoulder. “Oh I see. You were hoping to help me finish my fantasy here.” I hop up on the machine and spread my legs open so he can see right up my dress to my red lacy panties. Dean’s eyes obviously fall right there and he groans as he walks over to me.

His hands land on the bare skin of my thighs and his lips whisper along my neck. When he gets to my ear, he lets out a harsh grumble. “Not yet.” He pulls me down and turns me around so I am facing the machine. He presses close to me and I can feel his erection digging into my ass. “You have to play first.”

I smile and reach back to grab a quarter out of Dean’s pocket, but he swats my hand away and pulls one out himself and puts it in the machine. The way Dean is rubbing his hands along my waist has me distracted, so I am not doing very good. Dean lets out a small laugh when I go to pull the lever for the last ball. “You haven’t gotten much better.”

I shove my elbow back softly into his abs. “Hey! You’re distracting me. It doesn’t count.”

Dean just smiles against my shoulder and then places a gentle kiss there. “Mhmm sure Care. Whatever you say.”

When the last ball falls through the flippers, the machine suddenly starts dinging like we got a new highscore. I look up to the digital display to see what’s going on. Maybe Derek reset it and we’re the first ones to play.

I see the red letters scrolling across the display where it usually shows the high scores, except instead of saying the names and scores of players, the words “Marry me Caroline” keep flashing across. It takes me a second to process what is happening, but then I turn to Dean and he’s getting down on his knee pulling something out of his pocket.

I stare down at him with my mouth hanging open. “Dean?”

Dean opens the box and a huge princess cut diamond ring is sparkling back at me. Holy shit! Then I say it again out loud. “Holy shit!”

Dean laughs. “Caroline, I was trying to have a serious moment here.”

“Yes!”

Dean looks up at me surprised. “I didn’t even get to sa-.”

“Yes!” I cut him off and go down on my own knees to kiss him.

He pulls back from my mouth for a moment. “Well, that was a lot easier than I was expecting.”

I laugh and then kiss him some more. “I love you.”

Dean leans his head against mine and whispers back. “I love you too. I can’t wait until you’re my wife.”

When he says the word wife it hits me. “Holy shit we're getting married!”

Dean laughs. “Yeah you just agreed to it without even hearing my speech.”

I laugh. “Save the speech for after sex tonight. Sounds like it’ll be a good cuddle time conversation.”

Dean laughs. “So does this mean you’ll finally move your stuff into my room?”

I laugh. After me and Dean got together, I decided to stay living at his place, but I was adamant I still had a separate room so that we weren’t technically living together even though I spent most nights in his bed.

I pretend to think about it. “Well, technically you aren’t my husband yet.” I run my fingers through his hair and start placing kisses along his jaw. Dean’s eyes close and he groans. “Say it again.”

“What?” I look up at him. “That you’re going to be my husband?”

“Yes.” He groans. “That sounds so hot coming out of your mouth.”

Seconds later I am on top of the pinball machine and let’s just say we fully broke it in this time.

When we walk out of the office and back through the bar, I feel like everyone knows what happened back there, but I am too happy to care.

When we get back in the car, I gasp. “I have to call Ally! She thought you were getting me a bracelet.” I laugh.
