Epilogue

Carolyn

I winced as I bent over to pick up my guitar case.

I had ended up screwing up something, every month or so and over the last year, spankings were common enough, I spent a lot of time not being able to sit down comfortably. That was fine, though.

“You okay?” Helen asked.

I grinned. “Let’s just say I won’t be throwing a tantrum the next time my Daddy tells me I need to face problems, such as call the student loan collection agency back, for example.”

She grinned back at me. “God, I miss having a Daddy. It’s been almost two years now.”

“At least you can sit down!” I said.

We both laughed and she said, “Well, I can sit down, because you’re giving me your apartment.”

“It’s the least I could do,” I said. “After all, you’re going to be the service manager now, and we can’t let you be homeless!”

“Are you sure you want to move in with Carl?” she asked.

“Sure,” I said. Hell, I wanted it more than anything else. “We’ve been talking about it for six or seven months. Now, it’s the perfect time.” I looked at the apartment. All of my stuff was gone. It was either already at Carl’s or in my car. Helen’s stuff was mostly in boxes, but she had a few things out. Already, the place didn’t look like mine anymore.

“For the next week or so,” I said, “You’ll have to go through the dressing room to get in, but Carl’s going to put in a door from the outside for you. He’s also going to fence off a little yard for your puppy.”

She put her arms around me and hugged me tightly. “You’re the best,” she said.

I kissed her cheek and whispered, “No. You’re the best.” I squeezed her tightly and added, “But I’m getting a little better every day.”

Did you like Daddy’s Reluctant Little? If you loved reading about Carl and Rollie, you’ll love what’s next in the Wounded Daddies series. Helen hasn’t had a Daddy in more than two years, and she feels so terribly lonely. Leo hasn’t had a little girl either.

These two have known each other for years, but for some reason haven’t thought about each other. That all changes after a careless comment from Helen gets her into trouble with a drunken patron. Leo is right there to protect her, and that gets both of them thinking.

Helen’s not sure she can submit to anyone anymore.

Leo’s certain he’s not qualified to be a Daddy anymore.
