VINCENT

Ifollowed Dom to his car and climbed into the passenger seat while Levin got in the back. Dom was eerily quiet the entire walk back to the car. Knowing he was pissed off, I kept my mouth shut. The thought of his father touching my baby B made me sick to my stomach. It took everything in me not to jump across his desk and beat the shit out of his psycho ass.

And if I’d nearly lost it, I couldn’t imagine how close Dom was.

We left the estate, none of us speaking. I caught Levin’s eye in the rearview mirror. His gaze was hard as he stared back at me.

He was pissed too, but he’d never admit it.

We drove for several miles in silence before Dom pulled off the road and slammed the car into park. He pounded his fists against the steering wheel, shaking the car in his fury as he cursed in Italian, his body trembling and his black hair a wild mess.

“Fuck. Fuck. Fuck!” he snarled.

Levin and I remained quiet as he continued his assault on the helpless steering wheel. Finally, he stopped and tugged his phone out. He hit call on a number and pressed the phone to his ear.

“Wasp, are you well?” he asked in a thick voice.

I heard her faint voice come through the line but couldn’t make out what she was saying.

“That’s fine,” he said, raking his fingers through his hair, appearing to calm down.

I could still see the tension in his body. His shoulders were drawn up, and his hands trembled.

“I’ll be home soon. We need to talk.” He listened for a moment before blowing out a breath and casting a quick look at Levin in the rearview mirror. “Yes…It’s important….He’ll be there.”

I heard her rattle something off again, and Dom let out a soft chuckle.

“You know I won’t allow that. Wear the nightgown I placed on the nightstand for you. I’ll see you soon.” He hung up and let his head fall back against the headrest. He puffed out a breath.

“What are we going to do?” I ventured carefully, not interested in having to call a tow truck to drive us back to Bolten because he tore the car apart in a fit of rage.

“What we must,” he answered in monotone, shifting the car into drive.

Knowing it was far better to keep my mouth shut, I did so, wondering what the hell the mob prince had up his tailored, designer sleeve.

B was sittingon the edge of the bed when we arrived at Dom’s room. The moment we stepped inside, she rose, her blue eyes sparkling in the light cast by the bedside lamp. Dom stalked toward her and hauled her against him. He murmured something in her ear I couldn’t hear. She remained tense against him and didn’t return his hug, but she didn’t pull away either.

I peeked at Levin. His jaw clenched as he watched Dom’s hands tighten on B’s tiny waist. The red, silk gown he’d insisted she wear rode up to display the bottom of her ass in a delicious way. I had to bite back a groan. I was certain Dom knew what game he was playing with Levin. Dom might be the jealous, possessive asshole, but he'd set those feelings aside for me and Levin, even if it were a struggle for him. He wanted us to be with B but on his terms, and Levin was throwing a man-size wrench into the plans.

“Sit,” Dom instructed, nodding back to the bed.

Instead of telling him to eat shit like I expected, B sank to the mattress and slid to the center of it, her blue eyes roving from Dom, who stood beside the bed, to me. They flicked quickly to Levin, her mouth pursing, before she cleared her throat and focused on Dom.

“What’s going on? Did you tell your father?”

“I did.” He strode to the small bar in his room and poured himself a whiskey.

“And?”

“And he accepted it.”

“Why does that sound like a bad thing?” She glanced at me again.

“Because it is,” I said, sighing and moving to sit on the edge of the bed as Levin leaned against Dom’s dresser, his eyes fixed on a point over B’s head. “He’s requiring something completely fucked and disgusting.”

B wet her lips. “What is it?”

Dom slammed back his drink and focused his green eyes on her. “You.”

“Me?”

“Yes. He wants to fuck with you,” Dom continued, barely suppressed rage rolling off him. “Or fuck you. Either way, my answer is no.” His hands shook as he poured another glass of whiskey.

B’s gaze moved to me. “I don’t understand.”

“Matteo is sick,” I said gently. “He’s trying to break Dom, to test him. He needs Dom to have a weakness. It’s hard to control someone if they don’t. Matteo likes to exploit things which can cause someone pain. And in Dom’s case, that might be you since Dom chose to marry you rather than kill you.”

“I thought you were going to tell him the truth?” B demanded, leaning forward. “That I didn’t want to fucking marry you. That you forced me to!”

Dom finished his drink and poured a third. “I did. And I told him I don't give a fuck about you. It didn’t stop him from demanding to get between your legs to fucking taste you,” he spat out as if the words left a terrible taste in his mouth. He stared down at the glass in his hands for a moment. “He knew I was lying. Despite forcing you into this, I do give a shit. He had to have sensed it. ”

B shot to her feet, her hands curling into fists. “I don’t want this. I don’t want any of it! I didn’t want to come to you in the beginning and beg for help. I didn’t want to be on my knees in the woods with a gun pointed to my head. And I certainly didn’t want to be married to you! Now look! You didn’t have to take things this far. You could've let me leave or just fucking killed me a long time ago when I first arrived at Bolten. Isn’t that what you said? You said you’d kill me to save me?” Her chest heaved as she glared at him.
