Chapter Twenty-One

Tomas

Thank fuck John Trotter decided to have a party again. Not a damn drug I’ve been taking has removed the image of Parker nailing Alex backstage in the auditorium. The way her knees were up to her chest and her eyelids fluttered reminded me of how she let me take her bareback on New Year’s.

I guess that was all part of her plan.

While slipping past John and Tabitha, I catch a glimpse of Alex, her long hair tickling her barely covered ass. Christ, she’s really flaunting her shit these days. That short plaid skirt with the knee-high socks is something Soren would love on her.

And who else but Soren has his arm draped over her shoulders like she’s a fucking prize pony? The two of them look like they’re closer than ever, Soren’s smug smile beaming all the way across the room. I shove through a group of dancing bodies to get to him.

“What’s up, asshole?” I say while shoving his shoulder. “You look a little too proud of yourself. You got something to tell me?”

Soren tugs on his collared shirt to smooth it out, shrugging his shoulders while he peers briefly over my shoulder. Everyone is watching us right now, even the people who are pretending not to. Especially those people.

When he shakes his head as if this is a waste of time, I grit my teeth, preparing to knock him out of the fucking park. I don’t bother sparing a glance for Alex. The way her gaze feels on me is simultaneously alarming and heartening.

Adderall and weed course through my veins as I toss my half-consumed beer aside and hold up my fists. Soren pitches his voice low. “What the hell has gotten into you, man?”

“Come on. Punch me. I fucking dare you, Mr. Obsessive-Compulsive.”

His face darkens while he rears back his fist. The moment his knuckles make contact with my nose, stars dance in my vision, sending me stumbling toward the exit. Laughter explodes behind me. I’m sure Soren is hamming it the fuck up for the kids, basking in his new position on top of the school.

The cold air smacks me in the face and I sober quickly, blinking away the hurt of losing in front of half the school.

Well, the half that matters, anyway.

“Tommy?”

A look of scorn steals across my features. “You on the rebound now or something?”

“I don’t know what you mean.”

“Soren.” My voice cracks as I nod back to the mansion. “Getting real cozy with him since Lev died.”

She shudders, adjusting the collar of her pastel purple sweater while approaching me. “I loved him, Tommy. But he’s gone just like my father.”

“So, you’re just trying to forget him.” I spit on the ground. “Of course.”

“Hey, you have your drugs. I have mine, too.”

I shake my head. “Thought you were staying clean.”

“Sex is my drug, Tommy. Can’t you understand that? It’s the only way for me to feel…” She bows her head and hugs herself. “It’s the only way not to feel.”

“You trying to forget me, too?”

Her eyelids flutter and then she’s peering up at me from beneath her lashes, those dark eyes glittering with enough mischief to create its own galaxy. “Never.”

When she licks her lips, I follow the path of her tongue, noticing the wet sheen of saliva it leaves behind. Her lips part slightly as she closes the gap between us and strokes the front of my jeans, making me whimper as I back into a private garden.

She unbuttons my jeans and then yanks them open, causing me to clutch her hips. “Baby doll…”

“Don’t talk.”

“What are you doing to me?”

She mewls, the sound low and vibrational in her voice as she pushes me into the stone wall. Vines cling to the structure, tickling the back of my neck as she grips my cock and pumps my half chub into a full erection. My hips respond easily to her stroking rhythm, unable to resist.
