Love Contract (Bride of the Billionaire)

« Prev  Chapter  Next »

Daisy tries to keep her reaction moderate but fails miserably. She covers her surprise with a laugh and shakes her head.

“You guys are good at this. Must have a lot of practice.”

Deflect, deflect, deflect.

“I don’t pay girls,” I tell her. “I don’t have to.”

“Until now.”

“Shut up and sign the contract,” I tell her.

Why am I being so gruff with her? I know the sass she’s slinging is just a defense mechanism. Maybe it’s because for the first time in a long time, I’m looking at a girl and actually wanting to get to know her.

Even with the towel wrapped around her, I can see the luscious mounds of her tits. The glimpse I got of them in the shower was nowhere near enough. I’m dying to get my hands on her perfect, young, ripe body.

A thought occurs to me in a flash.

Has any man claimed her yet?

The rage runs through me like a hot jet of flame and I crush my hand into a fist. Daisy notices, but for some reason doesn’t say anything this time.

Instead, she signs her name on the line.

I snatch the tablet from the minister and scribble my signature beside it.

“There,” I growl. “It’s official now. You’re mine.”

Daisy

This is bad.

I may have just fallen in love with Winter Wellington, the man that I despise. It’s like I’ve had a wall around me, but he’s storming it like a Spartan army, and I’m helpless to defend against his onslaught.

“You’re mine…what do you think he meant by that?”

I glance at Ruth, wondering why I’m trusting a woman who works for the very man I just married for a million dollars. But thankfully, as she puts the finishing touches on my cherry-red nails, she gives me a look that lets me know I can trust her.

“What do you think, girl? He likes

you.”

“No he doesn’t.” I scoff at the idea and gaze over at the rack of dresses he had brought in for me. I don’t even want to guess how much they all cost. “I’m just here to fool his father. That’s all.”

“Yeah? Why was he watching you shower then?”

I frown and shake my head. “He’s a guy. Guys like girls.”

“Winter can have any girl he wants,” Ruth replies. “I’ve seen them come and go, but I’ve never seen him so interested in any of them as he is in you.”

Even though I do everything I can to keep it calm, my heart flutters again as I remember how he looked standing there in the doorway, his eyes on me, taking in my every curve…every inch of my body…making me feel sexy for once in my life.

I don’t even know how I feel about what’s going on. Am I being swept off my feet by all this? When I glance at my reflection in the mirror, all dolled up by Ruth and her mad makeup skills, I barely even recognize myself.

So…classy! It’s like I’ve suddenly become a Disney princess.

“Let’s get you into a dress,” Ruth says, checking her phone. “The car leaves for the party in fifteen.”
