Real Alphas Bite (The Alpha-Hole Duet 1)
“I don’t have all day,” the witch sniffed angrily.
A low warning growl hitched from Hendrix’s throat. He obviously didn’t like her tone.
The witch gulped and managed to look a little bit chagrined…just a little bit though.
River thrust his hand out, and the witch quickly began her chant. Unlike the glow in Hendrix’s extraction, a red glow built up between the vial and River’s finger. River gritted his teeth, snarling in pain as the drop of blood was extracted and deposited in the jar. He quickly dropped his hand and stepped away, a quick shiver passing through his body.
The witch looked like she was about to have an orgasm as she put the topper in the vial and hid it away.
Then it was Caspian’s turn. He looked a bit green at the prospect, but he shot me a wink and stepped up to take his turn. Caspian bit his lip as a yellow glow stretched between his finger and the vial. A trail of blood streamed from how hard he was biting. The blood from his lip wasn’t good enough apparently, because she did her chant until a drop had been taken from his finger and deposited in the vial.
And then it was done.
“Fuck,” Caspian muttered before taking a few steps away and throwing up.
“I’ll escort you back,” said River, obviously eager for her to be away from the compound.
The witch looked like she was about to do a jig, she seemed so happy. There was no sign of the strain from the spell she’d conducted on me. She was practically glowing now. The unease only grew as River escorted her with seven other guards towards the boat.
“Thank you,” I called after her, needing to at least acknowledge that she’d both saved and changed my life today.
The witch didn’t even bother to look back.
“What will she be able to do with your blood?” I asked.
“Everything will be fine, little wolf,” Hendrix answered, deliberately not answering my question. “Now, how about another run so I can see your pretty wolf again?”
Caspian had recovered by now from throwing up, and he grinned before shifting into his stunning wolf.
I followed him into my shift, my wolf once again taking control. We spent the rest of the evening playing around on the beach, with Hendrix watching over us.
It was amazing the difference between how I’d woken up and how the day had ended.
When I finally passed out that night, Caspian wrapped around me, I was so tired that I didn’t even dream.
