I took my protein shake with me from the kitchen. Spotting Jordan sat in the lounge alone, reading from a manilla file, his face in a place of anguish as it pinched together.

“Hey,” I said, throwing myself into the seat opposite him. “What’s up?”

He looked at me from above the file. “My parents,” he grumbled.

“What have they done now?”

He sighed, shutting the file. “You know they’re still looking into how I’ve acted as house president, well, they’re not giving me a single cent from my trust until I graduate.”

“That’s great,” I said, gently kicking at his foot. “We graduate soon. What’s the big deal?”

“You graduate soon,” he whispered. “I haven’t passed a single assignment since Christmas. I don’t have enough credits to graduate.” He looked away, shaking his eyes. “It’s whatever. But I won’t be graduating at the same time.”

“Fuck. Man, I’m sorry,” I said, standing to sit beside him. I put my arm around him. “You’ll be fine. You could stay on as president.”

“I was supposed to have an internship at one of the political offices,” he grumbled. “Now, I’ll be lucky for anyone to even look past the fact I had to redo most of my year. My name is only gonna get me so far.”

I patted at his shoulder. “If it comes to the worst, we could both work get jobs on a beach or something,” I said. “I have lifeguard training. I can swim. We could just work out, get tanned, and watch women all day.”

“Women,” he chuckled. “I’ve seen Spencer sneak out of your room at night.”

My arm came from around his shoulder, recoiling and almost flinching. “I—”

“Dude, it’s fine,” he said. “I genuinely don’t care who you like or who fucks who.”

“Spencer is—” I didn’t have the words, nor did I want him to think that was still happening. The last thing I wanted or needed was for him to think I was letting Spencer cheat on his current girlfriend. “That’s over. It was just some experimenting. I’m pretty much bisexual, you buy me something, I’m sexual.” I laughed at my own comment, when Jordan barely even smiled at it.

“I don’t—” he paused, his forehead creasing like he was impersonating Gordon Ramsay. “I’ve had girlfriends, but I’m not always constantly attracted to girls. Or anyone actually. Sometimes, it’s this intense feeling and then—” he looked at me.

“You need to do some research,” I told him. “Bisexual, pansexual, ace, gray, are a few of the names I know, but I’m sure there’s more words you can get to try and describe how you feel.”

“It’s not something I’m bothering myself with right now,” he grumbled. “I’m just going to focus on trying to tell my parents not having enough credits, then maybe I can finally get some form of access to my trust.” He grabbed my legs by the knee, squeezing his fingers into the muscle. “And if you tell anyone what I just told you, I’ll—”

“Relax bro,” I said, batting his hand away. “If you’re gonna threaten me with a good time, at least get the lube out.”

“Ew, you’re not my type.”

I didn’t know if he even knew what his type was.

Leaving Jordan alone to go back to my room with my protein shake. I found myself once more laid back in bed, thinking at Master and the way he’d been so sweet. He was still learning about being dominant, I suppose, but I knew he was getting into the character much more.

The longer he stayed on my mind, the more I wanted to make him proud when it came to the exam on Wednesday. I didn’t want to let him down. The bratty part of me did, because I wanted to know if there was some form of aggression to him, but I was generally a good kitten. And he’d told me to do well on the exam.

I opened my laptop and for the first time in a long while, I dusted off some of the web documents I’d been meaning to look at and study.
