EPILOGUE

Luka

Six Weeks Later…

"Are you sure you want my help?" Madisyn asks as we stare at diamond rings behind the jewelry counter. This is the fifth shop that we've wandered into this afternoon.

She glances at her phone, distracted.

"Hannah and Mikhail can handle Kira." It's not a surprise that she's worried. It's the first time she's left the baby and gone out on her own. Although, technically, she isn't alone. She's helping me shop for an engagement ring.

"I've just never left Kira alone."

"Do you think Mikhail can't handle the baby?" I ask.

"No, he's quite capable. I just miss her already."

"Good, then help me pick out an engagement ring, and we can head home."

She laughs. "This could take a lifetime at the rate we're going. Does Hannah know we're shopping for rings?"

I pause when I see the perfect ring and ask the jewelry store attendant to retrieve it from behind the glass.

"She doesn't even know that I'm planning to propose."

"Details!" Madisyn swoons. "I'm still waiting for Mikhail to propose, but it hasn't been that long. You two, you've been together only a few months. Don't you think it's too soon?"

She ogles the engagement ring as the jeweler retrieves it from the case.

"Quit trying to give me cold feet. I love Hannah and want to spend the rest of my life with her and Bay. Besides, we're trying for another baby, and before that little one appears, I want to make it official."

Hannah may have been engaged once before, to Mark, but she'd intended to marry him for stability, not love. I don't have those reservations about our relationship. She's made it clear that she loves me both in and out of the bedroom.

I don't have Mark's problem, the inability to make her scream my name in ecstasy. No, it's quite the opposite. It's a struggle to keep her quiet when I bring her over the edge, so she doesn't wake the entire compound.

"How are you going to propose?" Madisyn asks.

I examine the ring. It will look amazing on Hannah's hand. It's white gold and gorgeous, with a large diamond in the center and smaller diamonds around the band. It costs more than I care to admit, but she is worth every cent.

"I haven't gotten that far," I say. "Do you think she'd prefer a grand gesture or something small and private?"

"Hannah seems more like a small and private proposal type of girl, but I want the grand gesture if Mikhail asks."

"I'll be sure to let him know." I laugh and roll my eyes. I thoroughly inspect the ring again, making sure it's flawless. "I'll take it."
