Our Fugitive Bride (Treasure Falls Brides 1)
CHAPTER13
The past week had flown by. Monday night they had tied her to the bed and shaved her pussy. Tuesday, they had all taken a bath together and ended up washing every inch of her. On Wednesday, they had put in the second butt plug and had her show them what she’d learned. On Thursday, she met them at the door with whipped cream covering her vital parts. On Friday, they had taken her on the kitchen table with flour strewn about from where she’d been baking bread.
And tonight, they had accepted an invitation to his aunt and uncle’s house for dinner.
All of the married couples were there having dinner together for the first time.
One of the ladies who wanted to return to Charleston had changed her mind. Rose Patton had decided to stay and was courting newcomers in town, a man that Jesse wasn’t certain about. His name was Richard Montgomery and his partner was Clyburn Duncan.
They were the kind of men who could be either good or bad, and Jesse wasn’t certain yet which they were. They had been hired on at the mine and then they called on Rose and convinced her to stay.
The woman seemed nervous, not happy, though they had yet to say vows. It was like she wasn’t certain she had made the right decision.
“How was married life this first week?” his uncle asked him.
Jesse glanced at Mary and her cheeks were blooming pink and she glanced down at her plate but she lifted her eyes and smiled at him.
Married life had been better than he could have ever imagined, but he wasn’t going to tell his uncle that.
Their life together seemed happy and he just prayed that the past would stay there and he and Andrew could continue without everyone learning the truth about them. Or go to jail.
The women seemed rather shy, but the men sitting around the table had big smiles on their faces.
“Come now, ladies, do you enjoy being married?” his aunt said with a smile. “That first week was très magnifique, yes?” she said.
“This is just the beginning,” his uncle said. “You have years of being together.”
Jesse glanced across the table at Mary and then let his boot run up beneath her dress. He remembered their conversation this afternoon while they were getting ready.
They refused to let her wear bloomers or a corset. All she had on was her dress and a chemise. That was it and even now, the thought of running his hand beneath her skirt was a temptation he would take advantage of on the way home.
Her brows rose and her eyes widened when she felt his shoe travel up her naked leg.
She licked her lips and smiled at him. He was being naughty and she knew it, but she also wouldn’t stop him.
Suddenly the table grew quiet and he realized that everyone’s focus was on him and Mary.
His uncle laughed. “Gentlemen, would you like to follow me outdoors. We can drink a whiskey and enjoy a cigar before we join with the ladies in the parlor later.”
Everyone stood and Jesse watched as Mary made certain her skirt was smoothed down. He glanced at Andrew who grinned at him. He’d known what they were doing.
“Ladies, follow me,” Aunt Grace said and the women trailed behind his aunt into the parlor.
Thirty minutes later, sitting outside, Jesse heard Mary screaming. The sound of the terror in her voice had him up out of his chair and running toward her. Something was wrong. Terribly wrong.
When he reached her, she was standing staring at Rose who was sobbing and holding her face.
“Honey, are you all right?”
She whirled around to face Jesse, burying her face in his chest, unable to look at Rose.
“No, he hit Rose. Look at her face,” she said crying. “No, not again. No. Never again.”
The two men next to Rose shrugged. “She’s a whore and she needed disciplined. You don’t tease a man and then tell him no.”
Rose was sobbing. “I didn’t tease you. I told you not until we’re married and you hit me. You said I needed to learn my place.”
Jesse had heard all he needed to hear.
“Get out,” he told them, his anger rising until he feared if he wasn’t holding Mary, he would be pounding their faces.
All Jesse knew was that Rose’s eye was quickly swelling shut. She had a stunned look about her. And Mary seemed shaken to the core.
Jesse shoved Mary into his aunt’s arms. “Get her out of here.”
Andrew had come into the room and they grabbed Mr. Montgomery and Mr. Duncan and hauled them to the door.
“Hey, she had it coming,” Clyburn said. “I only wanted to fuck her.”
That was what was wrong with these two? They had no respect for women and it was what Jesse’s instincts had been telling him all night long. Now, unfortunately, they all knew the men didn’t belong in their small town.
“No man should ever hit a woman. And you haven’t married her yet to touch her,” Jesse said barely containing his anger.
“She wanted both of us. She’s a whore,” the man said.
They had no idea of the kind of life this town represented. A life filled with family and love and two men protecting and making certain the woman would never be alone.
“Get the hell out of town,” Andrew said. “You’re both fired.”
They had been working at the mine for the last week. Now they no longer had a reason to stay.
The men landed in the street and then they turned to face Andrew and Jesse. “She’s a whore. I’m not putting a ring on a whore’s finger.”
“Unless you want me getting the sheriff, you should get on your horses and ride out of town now. Do you understand me? If I see you again, you’ll be behind bars.”
The two men stood and shook the dirt off their clothes.
