TWENTY-TWO

Kitenteredthebedroom from his shower, naked with a towel thrown over his shoulder. The simple glance I intended to give him to acknowledge his presence turned into a lascivious stare, the computer screen I’d been staring at completely forgotten.

He pranced his way to the closet, his perky little ass bouncing. Ever since we arrived on Captiva Island, off the coast of Florida, yesterday, he had an extra pep in his step. Earlier, we’d engaged in some obedience training with him in full kitten gear, and now he seemed relaxed.

“How was your shower?” I asked.

“So good. It’s really hot here, and I like it. The weather is amazing.”

After shuffling through his bag, he walked over to the bed and dropped the clothes he’d taken out. I gave up all pretense of working and swiveled the chair around to watch him. I might have taken him here to give Liam some time to figure out who the hell had ordered a hit on me, but our brief trip was turning out to be something I’d needed without realizing it.

It’d been too long since I’d taken a vacation.

“What are you thinking of doing now?”

He slipped on a pair of bikini briefs with a low front. The material barely cupped his junk, and when he turned, I got a tantalizing view of his perfect butt cheeks, only a small triangle covering them.

“Going to the beach to soak up some sun.” He flashed me a smile and spun around. “What do you think?”

What did I think? My brain cells had melted. “You’re practically naked. Give me half an hour, and I’ll go with you.”

He snagged a sarong from the bed and knotted it around his waist. “I can manage half an hour on my own. You can join me when you’ve finished.” He walked over to me and slid onto my lap with his arms around my neck. “I thought this was our time off. How come you’re still working?”

“I promise it’s important, but once I’m done, I’m all yours for the day.”

He sifted the hair at my nape between his fingers. “Okay, I’ll forgive you because we played this morning, and it was honestly the most fun I’ve had in a while. You’re really getting a handle on pet play. It’s hard to think you’ve never done it before.”

“I couldn’t help getting into it. You’re one sexy cat.”

We hadn’t even had sex today when we played. It’d been strictly obedience training at first to get me familiar with the commands, issuing them, and punishing him whenever he didn’t carry out my orders. I’d learned after a punishment to have him repeat the task immediately until he did it right. He’d mostly been a good kitty today, and I’d had a milk treat waiting for him when we were done.

After playtime, I’d spent another hour of aftercare with him lying on the couch in the sitting area with his head in my lap while I petted him. We’d watched some episodes of Pete the Cat, a cartoon series he loved.

“Are you sure we have to go back on Monday?” he asked and kissed me lightly. “Because I’d sell a kidney to live here permanently.”

“We can come back. I’ve thought about buying private property on the island. Now I may have the incentive to do so if you seriously love it here.”

“I do, but isn’t that too much?”

“What is?”

“Me having a man buying property somewhere because I like a place.”

I grinned. “Sweetheart, that’s the least of what I’d do for you.”

I caught his chin and kissed him hard, sliding my tongue between his lips. He sighed contentedly into my mouth and kissed me back. He tightened his hand in my hair, and my cock stiffened. My phone rang, breaking the mood. A good thing too. Otherwise, I might have carried him to the bed.

Fuck, we didn’t even have to leave the chair. The desk was just as good.

He released my lips, and I picked up my phone. Liam.

“I should take this.”

“All right, then.” He kissed me hard again, then hopped off my lap. “You can find me on the beach when you’re finished.”

“Bring sunscreen and your phone.”

“I don’t need my phone. I’m not going very far.”
