Hook (A Hitman's Bait 2)
Chapter 10
“Comeon,Liam. You can’t still be mad.” I wrapped my arms around his waist and fluttered my eyelashes at him as Sully paid our fee to get into the club. “We’re really sorry.”
“No, you’re not.”
“How can I make it up to you?”
“Just go with your boyfriend.”
“But I can be your wingman tonight. Help you find a nice guy for the evening. And it’s not even Tack.”
“No, thanks.”
Sully stepped aside for me to enter the club ahead of him. He caught up to my right side while Liam walked on my left.
“I bet I have the two most handsome guys here tonight.” I beamed up at them both. “This is a very nice sandwich.”
Sully glowered at me, and I blew him a kiss.
“Let’s get a booth,” he said.
I fished my phone out of the small geometric print purse I’d paid way too much money for. “I’ll text Tack where we are. He’s already here.”
Sully had wanted us to have a VIP booth, but how much fun was that? I’d insisted we needed to join the masses, so we found a booth on the main floor to the far right. Liam and I settled in while Sully made his way to the bar.
“Kit.” Liam nudged me with his elbow.
I sent off my text to Tack. “Hmm?”
“I’m not upset. Promise.”
“Great. I want us all to have a good time tonight, and I was serious about being your wingman and talking you up to anyone you’re interested in.”
Liam raised his eyebrows as he assessed me. “No, thanks. You’d only scare boys off thinking you’re the standard I’ll use to measure them up.”
“Aww, that’s sweet.”
“What’s sweet?” Sully returned with a server, a boy skimpily clad in the sexy sailor costume all the servers wore tonight.
“Liam just complimented me.”
“Is that so?” Sully lifted me, took my space beside Liam, and set me down to his left. “I think you should sit here tonight.”
“Jealous much?” Liam asked, accepting the glass of wine from the server. “Thank you. What’s your name?”
The boy smiled at Liam. “Rabbit.”
“Did you just say Rabbit?” Liam asked.
“Yes, sir. Did you want anything else?” The way he watched Liam, he was up for a lot more than pouring our drinks. I sipped my wine and observed them while swaying to the music that pulsated around us.
“No, that’s all.”
The boy’s face fell, and he stepped back. “I’ll check back with your table if there’s anything else you need. Enjoy your evening.”
The boy sashayed away, and Liam’s eyes followed the movements of his ass. He glanced away and met my frown.
“What?” he asked.
